thats actually not true. my main music collection is pure cd's the only reason i look for mp3s is because i wanna share em on youtube for people wich might not have the money or liberty to buy cd's.
If they have no money for cd's try selling your pc/laptop and buy cd's instead.
Youtube is a great place to view 'n' listen to music/movies. After that buy them. If you think it's too expensive buy them online, that will make a different...
