  • I agree. Families helped each other and so did neighbors.Actually it was the mid '60's when everything turned to, don't trust anyone over 30, beat the system, do your own thing, etc.Women left the home, for good or bad, it still fractured the family. Divorce became rampant, why fight for the marriage?Blame it on your parents, society, not my fault, not responsible attitude set in. Morality declined.

  • This was the great Depression remember. Everyone pulled their own weight in them days.

  • @Horsesavy That's right, everyone pulled their own weight in them days, unlike today when people are so lazy to pull their own weight, they run down to the welfare office.

  • @Horsesavy Actually, it was the standard for families to work together not just during the depression era,so many filled the country from other countries an brought with them that standard of working as a unit. It changed in the 50's an has never returned to those ethics

  • I'm glad I'm not their sister, she seems to have had an awful lot to do in that household
