• SHE LOOKS LIKE MY MOM -______________________-'

  • Oh goodness! Emilie Autumn and The Beatles, my 2 favorite things >.< this is great! :D

  • I can see this being sang as the last song in her concerts.

  • her earlobes are attached - i always knew she was special

  • Quite an interesting mix and cover...I like how she slowed it way down and gave it a heartbeat style rhythm...very nice <3

  • HAHAH I love the Beatles and I love Emilie. Nice.

  • Gahhhhhhh I love this cover. :D

  • Well, unless this is a new version, she said this was recorded at 5am in her kitchen on her ibook with the crappy ibook microphone. It was basically for shits.

  • This sounds like Photographic Memory ^_^ maybe it's part two?? LOL

  • Blackroseblade is correct. Beautiful voice (obviously), but without something else like her violin, its a bit... dare I say it about my icon... dull.

  • So cool... This was one of my favorite Beatles songs.... ^_^

  • Best Cover EA has done

  • I really love this song! Its one of my favourite off 'A Bit O' This & That'. I love her vocals and how nice this song is.

  • When I saw she covered this I almost died. One of my favorite Beatles songs.

  • i love this cover is wonderful song by both the Beatles and the Beautiful Emilie Autumn :3

one thing i really like about her is even if some of her stuff is a little weird like the noise in the background on this one, its still her own style and i love her style theres not a song of hers i dont like :) i love her originality and all of it just so artistic what is there not to love about her.

  • I think my horse is a fan of Emilie's too! A few weeks ago I was riding him, and began singing this song to him (It was the only Beatles song I could think of at that time), and my voice is pretty similar to EA's. Out of nowhere he started trotting happily across the field. It was wonderful!

  • Hehehe sounds like UB40

  • lol she looksso sinister in the pic XD

  • OMFG!!!! I just cam lol jk

my favorite beatles song with my favorite artist

i dont think anyone understand how freakin happy i am

    im on cloud nine

  • @mitsukipuki lol i can understand i love this beatles song 2...

  • @bribrimichaeljackson I am such a huge beatle fan and emilie autumn is my favorite artist so i am like cloud nine when i hear this song

  • @comingundone2

I'm not in this conversation, but I understand you and it sounds like a good suggestion! XD

  • Oh no worries. It was just a over excited suggestion. Wear what you please... -sips tea pinky up-

  • @TheRandomamp forget what I said. :D This is awesome as anything.

  • that's so psychedelic, especially because of that strange beat and those weird background voices... adorable!

  • The style reminds me a lot of Fleetwood Mac (an awesome band). She did a great job!

  • Comment removed

  • Great voice, and I love this song, but that back-beat or whatever it is kind of annoying. It like... doesn't go with the rest of the song I think.

  • oh perfect! I love The Beatles and Emilie Autumn. This seems like a trippy dream :D

  • This guy I know would so like this. :P

  • My boyfriend is always singing this song, but I didn't know it was from the Beatles, and I love the Beatles hahaha. I like this cover too(:

  • Never really adored the Beatles that much, but this song is good, and Emilie Autumn did a good cover. :)

Though I myself would also prefer her violin in the background or something. OTL

  • ...you know that i´ll always be true...

all my loving, i will send to you... :)

  • i love emilie. and i'm not really a fan of the beatles. i think they're overated. but this song is sweet.

  • @babegia103 I think the Beatles are over rated as well, but this is pretty cool.

  • I'm a huge EA-fan but also a big Beatles-fan and I didn't like this version at all. But it doesn't matter. I'll just listen and love 99% of everthing else she has made. ♥

  • I love Emilie much. but this is terrible.

Maybe it's cause I am madly in love with The Beatles. I dunno. I don't like it at all.

  • She looks a bit like Milla Jovovich in that picture (:

  • Hmm, i don't particularly like the background music. It would be better with her normal harpischord and/or violin

  • Creepy picture. But I love the song. :)

  • I choose ATU over EA's cover. But its a good try.

  • I didn't like this cover at first.

But it's growing on me now (:

Haha about the seventh time I've listened to it in a row I think?

  • I actually like her's better than the Beatles, but, that is my opinion. :P

  • Typos, fun stuff.

  • her own music is better of course. I mean honestly, covers cannot beat her phenomenal songs. That would obsurd, right? She's just having fun and messing around by making covers---she likes to do it, so let it be. Doesn't have to be anyone's, or my, cup of tea.

  • 'She's just having fun'?

I really like her covers. I've heard lots of random covers, but no one can do 'em like EA do - because she is not just copy the songs. She add her style to it.

Or do I talk about something really different? (:

  • yeah, her covers are amazing because she makes the song all her own at the same time paying respects to the original creator by doing so. some people were very angry about her covers for ignorant reasons. :) but i meant well with the comment. i mean "having fun" as in she does it because she likes to.

  • Oh ... Okay (: My apologize.

I thought you meant, she just did it 'cause she didn't have nothing else to do.

But oh, I understand you wery well. (: It wouldn't be the same, if someone did a cover of her 'Opheliac', would it? (:

  • Not her best and i have to say I love The Beatles version more, but stll gotta love her.

  • Exactly

  • I love Emilie, but Beatles version is better in this particular song. x3

    (I love the Beatles. :o )

Her voice is still amazing, anyways. The music is BLAH. x.X

  • Beatles... But I still like EA <3

  • Emilie is truly amazing!

  • Happy Birthday Emilie!!!

  • This is a riot! Obviously, her musical reality doesn't ever permit something so optimistic as this song to exist in any other form than a parody. The very skeletal musical accompaniment--the silly, squirty, depressed basketball drumming--is the only morbid element of the piece, and yet it wins over the sappy lyrics, which though quite pleasantly harmonized, are squashed out of mind by the drumming.

  • sarcasm = EA

  • i love her voice. the background sounds weird though. maybe if she'd have done something with her excellent violin skills? still not bad. not my fave emile autumn piece but still ok.

  • @blackroseblade It would be overdone with the violin, I think... it's perfect, just like it is^^ The text ist simple and powerful, just like the background she chose. So, in my opinion it's perfect <3

  • @narutoxfunny10 It was just my humble opinion but perhaps you are right.

  • I like it. Don't love, because The Beatles are my favorite band and if you do a cover you really ought to do one with more music BUUUUT I love Emilie as well and it wasn't bad. I was able to listen to the entire thing. 3*

  • It's nothing like the original, but I think it sounds beautiful

  • do you mean emilie's version or normal?

    or all together it sucks?

  • You are poo. And so is your dad.

  • When I first heard this I was like,

"Wait, what? That's Emilie Autumn's voice, but those are John Lennon's words. Does not compute!"

I heard it on a CD my friend burned, and I was so confused.

It's better than everyone says though, to me at least.

She's great in general. Everyone has their own style. ^^

  • Woohoo! Emilie rocks!

Love the picture, by the way. It's imp-ish and just plain awesome!

  • Wow...I <3 the beat on this!!!

  • It's beautiful, but it's the song by her I like the least. Though, I find it better than the original (but, hey, I've never liked the Beatles)

  • i love this song but its just too slow? but i really really do love her! shes awsome.

  • Meh. I love Emilie Autumn, but this is her worst song. Not to offend her, she's lovely, but she just didn't do very well

  • yea, she is a great artist but this really isn't that great of a cover.

  • Love this song! It was always my fav Beatles song, growing up. Glad someone as wonderful as Emilie covered it.

  • soooooo GOOD :)

  • The beat ain't that bad actually. I like it.

But it may not beat the original.

Still quite a good song. XD

  • :/ No thank you....

  • I love the song through and through =3 Beat, song, it just works =3

  • i love the harmony, and what she did with it, but the back beat is awful.

  • i love her voice, but i'm not too keen on the backing track =/

i love emilie's other covers and songs. xx

  • Cewlish, that smile is like: 'Teeeheee, I'm going to kill you :D' O.o

I think I played this song once too..

  • hahahaha your right with the smile hahhaha xD but thats one of the billion reasons why i love her :D

  • There's no reason to not love her, lets all love her ^^ -runs in circles-

  • I sooooooooo agree with you!! :D

You're so right you know! ^^

  • Thaaaaaaaaank you o.ô I'm not always right, you know, mostly I'm at the wrong end x'D

  • But you was VERY right this time ;)

  • @GoatBlaat -runs in mad circles with outrageous love for Emilie- lets worship her *.*

  • @comingundone2 Yeah :3

  • @GoatBlaat TIME FOR INSANITY TEA TIME!!!

  • @comingundone2 With lots of cookies and sugar and everything that belongs to the tea time!

  • @GoatBlaat And we'll wear miniature top hats with white lace tied to them with black satin sun umbrellas and we'll wear Victorian dresses and speak with a British accent!

  • @comingundone2 Wait, wait, I don't get you anymore XD -all dazzled and confused-

    1. I don't have such clothing or umbrella D:

    2. My English is crap, I don't even know with what kind of accent I speak XD

  • It's not bad... But It's not even close to the Beatles

    I like the Beatles better

But I think It's pretty cool she did a cover from The Beatles XD

  • Not bad, but for redo's the Across the Universe version blows this out of the water.

I guess she just isn't suited for this style of song...

  • That was awsome! :D

I love the beatles, but that was pretty amazing.

It would have been better without the drums or whatever that was...

But it was still great! :D

  • i love her smile =D

  • No offence to the fans, but i hate this, there are some songs that you dont cover, this song is runined by the awful backing beat.

  • This shows Emilie is above and beyond her peers. Very risky thing to do and she does it in Her own style. Brilliant!

  • Ah! This was always my fav Beatles song and what a unique cover! What a voice!

  • Ditto.

  • beautiful<3

  • yes! two of my favorite things!

  • wow this is cool

  • Not my favourite cover by her, but awesome nonetheless.

    ;)

  • I love the Beatles, and I've recently started to like Emilie. It sound like a good cover, somehow the beat reminds me of a Young Marble Giants song, though Emilie's voice has nothing to with Alison Statton's. It's still pretty much well done.

  • Mmmmmmm..... Emilie....

  • Emilie is a good artist, but this song is better The Beatles way. And they own.

  • couldn't agree more with you

  • xD So what, you're a beatels fan? :)

  • loveLoveLOVE.

    Amazingness.

  • stfu!

  • *Ahem*, is that quite necessary?

  • OmG... O... M... G... Emilie Autumn and the Beatles...?! This... is this... Heaven...? oxo

Emilie, you music beast. Everything now has been Emiliefied.

  • I luvz the fancy beat =D

  • its a a cover. by the beatles.

  • wow there are alot of songs she covered that i didnt know about.

  • Oh my god, this is new, a song that's not about murder, rape, violence or child abuse! :o

No, sorry, couldn't help it. :P

    I do love her music!

  • This isn't her song. It's originally by The Beatles...

    <33 Emilie!!! ^^ I love this cover.

  • so its not gothic, she does sing other stuff, and does do classical music as a classical trained violenest. This song sounds a bit like chillout. like ambiant techno of sorts

  • her music is victorian industral

  • not at all... it seems you havent herd "Juliet" from her "Enchant" album

  • I have not, I have heard chambermaid and gothic lolita, along with some of the classical violen stuff she did.

  • She is really a very happy person... :D Don't say anything if you don't know even a little.

  • hear music just sounds morbid much of it to me.

I give you she is a good artist, outside the box, and a nice looking girl currently from chicago.

But many of her songs are dark sounding

  • do u know why they are that way -/_\-

  • i guess emily has something to say about socity. I dont know why the songs are so dark you please tell me cuz I am not gothic, I like gothic archetecture though

  • she sings about what she feels and what she has experienced ^^

  • if she has expericanced that she must have had a messed up childhood or seen many girls that did, or she must have some sort of mental illness that would be my guess but I could be wrong

  • You are right on two counts, messed up childhood and menta illness.

  • thats sad, I know how suckish depression is, I suffer from it sometimes too, its not fun, it feels like it eats at your insides and you feel empty and alone even when surrounded by people.

  • Yes, her music is done in a morbid perspective, yet that doesn't make her any more or less of a happy person. She just writes about what she knows, so of course, she's written about the past thins in her life. And yes, Emilie is manic depressive and was raped when she was younger, and some songs are based on that. But despite her dark music that contains a morbid outlook, past that she's quite a kind, happy person. Music is just how she deals with past experiences.

  • someone forced themself on her? That is sad.

I did not say she wasn't a kind person, I say say her music is darker then most of what I prefer.

  • She is a happy person, but she is trying to add her style to this song, and it just isn't working.

  • Well, that's debatable. "Hardcore" (for lack of a better word) fans would be quite pleased with how she's done this. I, for one, am. But it's all to one's taste. We all, clearly, have our own opinions on whether she did or, did not, do this cover well.

  • But the real question is, 'Would you like it is an amateur did it?' Honestly. I think Emilie is a great artist but this is not her greatest work.

  • Hm. True. But I guess it all depends on the amateur, eh? However, Emilie is far from an amateur, as you agree. I'm not saying it's her BEST, but I am saying that in MY opinion she did it WELL. For going from her usual stuff, to the Beatles, I think she did it well. But, again, that's just me.

  • Well thought out, and interesting points, but didn't quite answer my question. I thank you deeply for maintaining a tone of respect during this discussion, but I cannot help but ask again for your personal opinion. I would not consider listening to this again if it was amateur due to the discord between the mood and genre. I was very disappointed by the said. I greatly support covers and changing the songs in ways that you prefer, but this is a rather objectionable alteration.

  • Well, personally, if the cover sounded like this, I'd probably still like it. Whether done by an amateur or not. The whole point, in my opinion, of doing covers is to change their mood, is to completely rework them. Take Marilyn Manson's cover of 'Sweet Dreams'. That was a super 80's synth song, and he took it and turned it into HIS genre. It turned out excellent. Now, I'm not saying that this cover is quite as phenomenal, however, Emilie essentially did what Manson did, but differently.

  • well she doesn't want ot be labeled as just one thing. It's very limiting to her as an artist and it doesn't allow her to show her talent at very view of the spectrum, so to speak.

  • If she wanted to expand her achieved genres per say, then she would want to perform this song in it's own genre (Or something similar to or comparable with...). By playing this in such a way, she proves that she is stuck in one genre and therefore she is doing the absolute opposite of what you have suggested. Interesting theory, and perhaps a possibility with poor execution?

  • you actually have a good point there. I didn't see it from that perspective... I personally thought this song was set apart in its own way from her Opheliac styles and Enchant styles so I did't see the cohesiveness that you saw.

  • I guess we can simply leave it in wonder at what is was for which she aimed.

  • As a muscian, Id say labels are wonderfull. But you should only label something after its done. And I do think you can label a muscians style, but have in mind that such stuff is very flexible. Im a fan of a guitarist called Buckethead who mostly plays some heavier variants of Metal, but he got some jazz and funk and other stuff too in the same style.

  • She is manic depressive, darling.

  • You know you could listen to her interviews =)

  • Personally, I love this picture. She brings great beauty from any angle. Yup Yup.

  • i think the picture of her is really ugly... but i loved the song ever since i've heard it...

  • usually, i'd tell ppl to shut the fuck up for saying something like that against emilie, but unfortunately I'd have to agree...it's just a bad angle for her i guess.

It happens to everyone... even dare I say it... Emilie Autumn

  • hmm don't shoot me, pretty victorians, but i surely don't like this song...

    o alas....

  • This is a quite a upbeat song. I like it.

  • the bad side of her music is that the songs can't last forever.

  • Is there anything she can't do?

  • Thank you again Zephyr!

This is really cool... I hadn't listened to any of her covers before, but I might look at all the others, just because of this one.

  • Somehow her smile reminds me of the Cheshire Cat xD I love this song! Yayz, thankies Wingy.

  • I love this song.

  • love this

  • naja das lied ist irwie etwas komisch.... die hintergundmusik ist völlig anders als bei anderen liedern von EA...... aber naja, es gibt von jeder band gute UND schlechte songs^^ nobody's perfect^^

  • That's because EA didn't write the song.

  • oh^^ okay.... i didn't know that^^

  • AWESOME! MORE EMILIE AUTUMN =D

  • OMG i actually know the original of this!!!! LOL

    loooovveee emilie!!!
