Although aside from protecting it, they didn't want it to be translated so that the common people could read it. Even today, they discourage you from reading the Bible for yourself. They also don't encourage sharing the Gospel with other people, ignoring The Great Commision.

@DickCArbiter From what I understood, the churches were started by the apostles, not Jesus Himself. I would be interested to know where it states that Jesus started the Catholic church. From my understanding of history, the breaking away from the Catholic church started with Lutheran who didn't want to leave, but was excommunicated because of he believed that the masses should be allowed to read the Bible, not just the Priests.

She was dressed modestly, and it certainly wasn't anything sexual or bad, and neither was the song, albeit not a Christian song, but there are many worse things to be offended over. Not everyone has the same beliefs , we all have different interpretations on some things, but when you get down to it, the most important thing is merely salvation. Not if your wedding ceremony is done the right way.

Jesus started ONE Church. Look to the Catholic Church for Bible interpretation. It was the Catholic Church who protected the Bible over the centuries. The Catholic Church is the only Christian Church that goes back to the time of Christ.
