This isn't abuse, it is part of a process of introducing a new pet to another pet. That way they can grow to know each other, and this woman isn't going to have to worry about her dog getting territorial one day and killing the kitty when she isn't home. I am sure it was stressful for the kitten, but the kitten does not know how scary a rott can be. He hasn't had that kind of experience yet, and hopefully never did. Just make sure you praise them after words and comfort both animals.

The dog never looked aggressive for a second, it'd of been trying to play. My rottie always gets all excited and confused when the cats are walking around. So it wasn't 'in harms way'. Admittedly I wouldn't want my dog barking at a kitty that long.
