it also sheds light on julie's character too-0why she might have actted the way she diod in certain situations. I'm not condoning all of her actions-just stepping back & looking at the entire picture. That fact alone is why we need soaps to stay on the air. They can teach us to empathize with others & reform our own flawed conduct.
Don't get me wrong I liked Patricia Huston & Patricia Barry as actresses (Barry is one of my favorites). I also think Addie adored Hope-obviously she did or she wouldn't have pushed the carriage out of the way. Had she lived she might have been a better mother to her than to Julie. However, I'm tired of people always trying to make it seem like Addie was this saint

What a mother! Addie was downright creepy. Hope's birth-Doug being her father & Julie being her sister is strrange. Doesn't anyone else think so?
I'm glad Addie & Julie reconciled before her death. Everyone always points out Julie's shortcomings let's look at her mother's for a minute. Addie was originally a self-centered, competitive, jealous bitch. She abandoned her daughter in 1966 & never even bothered to come back to Salem until 5 years later. Then she tells Julie she's lucky that a man of Scott Banning's caliber would have anything to do
I saw a photo of Regina Gleason who portrayed Kitty Hiortron. She was an attractive blonde...sorta cold looking. She sort of reminded me of Barbara Stanwyck. Her character was pretty sleazy. Apparently she slept with everyone. Do you remember Tommy & Kitty's daughter sandy? Sandy was portrayed by Heather North-who was the voice behind Daphne on the cartoon series "Scooby Doo". i read that she is 60 years old now.

I remember Kitty dying of a heart attack during an argument with Bill when she was blackmailing him with a tape recording she had of Tom Sr. & Laura talking about the fact that Bill was Michael's father. Bill went to prison for manslaughter (and that's where he met Doug).
I think that this footage from you billyjill is some of the best of DOOL on Youtube. If you or anyone else has more of this eras classic footage it would be really appreciated, especially the Horton family or Mickey and Maggies beginnings with the farmhouse and red shoes incident.
I really hate how Addie was killed just to pair Doug and Julie together. Could they not have found another way to keep her on the show. I think Days wanted to give her a sorda "paybacks are a bitch" sorda way. But that really wasn't necessary. Plus Julie was quite the bitch herself so...
@Passions1869 they were probably still in shock. I know when my cousin died my aunt couldn't believe it until she actually saw her daughter lying in her coffin and then she lost it :( It's horrible.

That was a great story. When Addie married Doug, had leukemia, recovered, but was hit by a speeding truck. She saved Hope while risking her own life.
