  • Hi mate, I have to be honest and say I can't remember exactly the weight of that fish, but I know it was my first 20lber from Drayton, I've only ever had 3 over 20lb from there.

I'm surprised you say your biggest in only 10lb from there, we only fish the other side of the res and the average size has got to be around 13lb.

My son has had loads around 16 - 18lb, two at 19lb 8oz, but he's yet to managed a 20lber.

    Tight lines.

  • Congratulations Darran !! Woow - what a great fishes ... I also go fishing sometimes - but I am a beginner in this hobby ,so I hope, maybe in the future - similar trophy :-) best regards -MaC

  • oh yes nice video, its 5 stars from me.

  • Very nice, would you mind telling me how far you were fishing and what hookbaits you used please. Any info would be good as I am going tomorrow.

    Thanks

  • hope you had a good day mate.

We were fishing off the boards about 80yards out.

Hook baits were mainly 1 piece of real maize sandwiched between 2 rubber / fake buoyant corn hair-rigged on a size 8 longshank hook. The slightly large hook perfectly balances the rig.

These were fished over a couple of Kgs of spodded Hemp with a sprinkling of maize.
