i just turned 16 yesterday. ive been alive for each of their 17 losing seasons. it will be the best year ever when they finally break the streak. if they dont make too many bad decisions, they can make a run for it (it as in .500) in 3 years
I live in Altoona, PA, and i'm less than 5 minutes from the Pirates double AA affiliate Altoona Curve. I'm only 16 years old but i've watched some of their youngest prospects kick ass. (Tabata, Friday, ALVAREZ!, Pacheco, Hernandez, and so on..) The Pirates should definately be bringing up some of these guys soon. Although when all of these guys get better, they'll just trade them for "better" younger prospects. I love the bucs, but they make the wrong choices.
Well what did you expect a freakin playoff run? Give it until Tabata, Alvarez, Hernandez, and Sanchez get pulled up, then there will be a team to cheer for.
08-09 steelers and pen world camps :) be nice if the pirates spend there money and try to make the post season this season. so bad for how many seasons and so many wasted draft picks. wtf are they doing down there??? no one knows
the pirates do spend the money the make. they just dont make any!!! for the most part, there is a direct comparison to ticket revenue and player salary. the pirates basically spend the same % of income as the phillies do. the thing is, the pirates need to get more popular before they can make a run.

I wouldn't blame Zack Duke for sucking, I blame Jim Colbourne for tampering wit him. There's an old saying that if ain't broke don't fix it. As for where this team is going, the first true test is next week when the Cardinals come in. If they take 2 of those games then I might start to believe.

HAHAHA! I am not embarrassed with anything I've said. If the Pirates somehow magically do well this year, I will make another video apologizing for how wrong I was. The fact remains that there are still 140 games to be played. If they're still playing this well after 90, then I'll be embarrassed. It's still way too early. I hope they don't falter, but if they do, the people that hopped on the train with the fast start will feel awful when it derails.

People don't help them win - they are the ones playing the game at the end of the day. I do not hate the team. I am a realistic fan. I made my remarks based on statistics and everything I have seen from the players in the past. So far, they are playing well above what their abilites indicate. It could continue, but I don't think it will. Believe me...it's better if they lose. Delusions of grandeur killed the KC Royals after their lucky season in 2003.

-all 5 of our starters are playing amazing
- our bench players are playing great, Monroe had a 2 homer game his first start, hinske is decent, vasquez is playing pretty good in his starts, and Cruz got sent down when we traded for delwyn young
It's been 2 weeks. The Pirates have played well to start before only to collapse in the summer when the other teams improve. Get back to me in August when they are 15 games under .500. If not, I'll say that I was wrong. Enjoy the wins while you can.
I completely agree. Nyjer is at least average if not above....besides, even if he does end up failing, McCutcheon will be called up in May and will take his spot

I just read this comment. In the video I said, "last year McLouth busted out just as I predicted." I said he would hit 25 HR's, and he did. I also predicted 40 SB's, but he never got the chance to steal because he constantly hit doubles, so I was wrong there. I was mad when Duffy was taking his PT several years ago too. I've been on his side for a long time, and when he finally was the everyday starter, he showed why.
I am goin to favorite this video because everythin you said in this video is 150% true. All of us Buccos fan want to see atleast a record of 81-81 this year but its not gonna happen. I agree with you on your prediction for the Pirates record this year 60-102 is probably how they are gonna end up.
