Hey i was there at that show, at the end Blakes wallet fell out and he dropped a couple of picks that he just left there so i grabbed them and had them for years and lost them some where along the way.
blakes such a good writer its a shame a lot of kids nowadays dont know this music they probaly wouldnt like it anyway since everybody just watches mtv for music but im glad i know jawbreaker and dont listen All time low or that stuff
This song came up in my music shuffle the other day. It's been easily a year since I've heard it and I was reminded of what a great song it was. I've probably listened to it 10 times in the last two days.
one of the better punk songs of all time.....after all these years it still holds.....this is not emo.....just good lyrics......great San Francisco Punk......would be the greatest but so many good bands came out of our little area......but one of my favorites!
wat Emo was considered back then was a far different thing then the shit it has become today. as far as considering them emos in todays terms, that is just bullshit
The club was named after a guy named Emo. (like Emo Phillips). And while the roots of what would become known as emo were certainly sowed long before. the term didn't surface until around the same time this band started (late 80s - early 90s) and was called Emo-Core. (Emotional Hardcore) And it didn't become the awful shit that it is today until much later, and that's when the term really took off.
I love this song and must give credit to Blake for writing such awesome lyrics. I think Nerf Herder did a pretty good cover of this song.

@arsletirott , you know he was some kinda of creative writing major or at least that's what I heard, his lyrics to me were always kind of wierd.

I'm getting me a pack of Chesterfields tomorrow. They're the best I think, with Lucky Strikes in second.

botch061502 3 years ago
Emo-Core, it was called Emo-Core back then. That made it more punk.
boywithstars 3 years ago
why is it called EMOS? they are so punk!
Darknessislife 3 years ago
It was named that back before all that bullshit, back when Emo was just a guy's name.
boywithstars 3 years ago
ummmm emo was a genre well before jawbreaker ever came around.. emo was coined back in late 84 through 85 and really took hold in 86-89...

His new band is "The Thorns Of Life"
Although I'm guessing you already know that, considering all the breaker/jets videos you have!
