  • this is brilliant! thanks for sharing it.

  • wow wat mic did u use to get the voices of ur actors

  • What is "SgPro" ...how much and how much better does it make the video quality look?

  • Awesome video! Well done. Where did you get your music from? Did you need to get the rights to that music? I know you said it's from Lady in the Water and The Village, but how did you go about obtaining that music? Just curious for myself and my video production.

  • i can't understand a word they are saying but the filming is incredible. Amazing shots, great quality. Just overall excellent

  • youtube can take longer videos.. I can upload more than 15min video.. :)

  • That was amazing!!! Awesome job on the camera work. Let me ask you though, where did you get all of your music from?

  • @patcism most of that music is from lady in the water and The Village, both M. Night Shamalayn movies - and both with music by James newton howard

  • a new jack bender up in here

  • Out of the box my xha1s was sooo noisy and washed out. I reset and it helped a bit but it's still to washed out. How can I improve the contrast? I am a pro videographer and shoot full manual and no auto gain etc...

  • thats amazing work !!!!

  • sory, men dette sugde, dårlig og billige "skuespillere"

  • HEY I HAVE A QUESTION!! did you use a mic set with this.. or was this all done with a mic that was on the camera?

    PLEASE ANSWER!

  • B & H never even heard of this SG Pro. So WHERE can it be bought in NYC???

  • Can you please tell me what spec equipment you used to make this. Like what individual things, camera, lense...ect. What did you use?

  • Oh by the way, i know this soundtrack. wich movie did you get it from ?

And,congratulations for the sound too ! Great job !

  • ...(from the top of the trees in the back to the ground where you where), in order to follow the kid runing from far away.

Anyway, you guys are brilliant ! This movie is realy good, ans it kept me out of breath while i was watching. Well done !

  • Hi guys, i was wondering if you could add some subtitles, at least in english.

You guys are very talented. but if i may you shouldn't put too many focus tricks even if it has a great effect in the naration, i think it's a bit too much. I also think that you've made too many close-ups shots, even if they're part of an action scene and we (spectators) have to understand the hurry the character are in.

    The firs shot is a great idea, but i would've put a tracking/slithly Downward/Establishment

  • Brillian camera skills . respect you from ''zepland pictures''

  • perfection... the perfect film look ...good work guys, now i know exactly what i want to get for my movies

  • what is sg pro?

  • excellent work....the atmosphere audio is very well made. Good job on sound.

  • wITH ONE IS BETHER THAT ONE..OR THE SONY FX1000??

    THANKS A LOT!

  • Great job!

  • DSLR's are a better buy when you want to acheive that ultimate film look, but this camcorder has better control over the aperture and zoom, so you have to pick and choose...

  • very nice work!

    congratulatons

    Cristian from Argentina

  • which preset did you use!?? looks great!

  • wow !

  • this is an amazing camera, I can't afford it though- any recommendations on a cheaper but good quality camera?

  • Yea, def good filming. I just got the A1 cam and trying to shoot my own music videos but want it 2 look like this, witch SgPro and lens did you use to make this? And do you have any tips to make the footage come out better.

  • Comment removed

  • Is the XH A1s the camera used? or is there a different if it has the s ?

  • Did you use a lens adapter, and if so, what lens?

  • amazing quality, how are you getting this look from the xha1, please teach me

  • i understand not one word, but i can feel the story...that's how a good film is, expressions with every frame...loved it! i have no doubt that you'll be a great movie maker...keep going, and keep the films coming...you've inspired everyone who has viewed your short film.

  • Truly great work mate!

  • Norsk, come to NYC and shoot my movie!! I assume you used a 35MM lens..(?)

  • This is hella intense... I don't even know whats going on! But its intense! lol

  • it is a little shaky; but this is mind-blowing, i love everything about it. it looks like a good independent film

  • all soundtrack/scroes from this short film are from The Village. search it on youtube you'll find most of the ones used in this.

  • nice movie! awesome background music also! are you gonna make another movie like that in high def?

  • THIS IS AMAZING

  • did you use extra lights or did you film just with sunlight?

  • Your movies are awesome!!!

    I really love them.

    But i have a question:

Where do you get your music/soundtracks/scores from?

    Did you produce them yourselves?

    Thanking you in anticipation

  • Realy Realy good... please make more... I want to see your name in theaters Boy!

  • ..i would do anything for this camera

  • That was unbelievable filming!...............great looking camera too...........Tell me, what part of the world are you guys from?

  • @torchidman Thanks :) We are from Norway!

  • This is worthy of a cinema release.

  • wow ur angles are crazy good

  • I didn't even understand the language... top notch work still! I wish I had an XH A1 and SgPro -- it's way better than the Letus. As a filmmaker myself, I appreciated a great short film like this, rather than a lot of stupid short films on YouTube.

  • Andy, Love your work, very inspiring. I thought the SG Pro was just an adapter.....what kind of lens did you use?

Thanks, and keep up the great work.

  • heyy can you PLEEEAAASSSSEEE put the subtitles for this.. i have been wanting to know what they are saying for a few months now..

love your work .. when are you goin to post more videos?? lookin forward to it

  • @TheBlancoProductionz hehe, thanks. I'm sorry I haven't added subtitles yet. I was working on it, but then suddenly I got a lot of job to do (thats also why I haven't uploaded any new videos lately). But I hope the subtitles will be available one day :) And more videos will come!

  • what is Sgpro?

  • best short film i've seen on youtube!

even though I cant understand what they're saying :)

    Great job man

  • @TechnoHeroine Thanks! :)

  • this looks awesome.

  • Hey andy great job man! story was great even though i didnt understand a word, but great visuals! even without knowing the language i understood the film, May I ask how did you put together the sound since you did all this by yourself? Please let me know as i am working on my own short as well. Thanks!

  • Hey i watched the ending on Vimeo and was just wondering what music u used at the very end??

  • you guys are super awesome!

  • Did you film this using the on-board mic or are you using an external shotgun or lavalier mic?

  • @DTMedia1 External shotgun attached to the camcorder :)

  • @Andyax You can see it in my equipment video :)

  • This is great! Just curious, what was your budget for this?

  • @filmya Thanks filmya! :) There were no budget :P hehe. 0$

  • Proves you're a genius! I expect great things from you!!!!

  • im going to vimeo rite now! great work andyax! :D

  • You are incredibly talented. I am soon to purchase the XH A1, I can only hope my results look as beautiful as yours.

  • Hey excellent vid man...did you just you use one camcorder...

  • and what does color correct mean or do?

why do u need to color correct. THANKS

  • lets say the colors in your shot are too bright or dark or look weird, you can "correct" them in an editing program, even simple ones like imovie have basic color corection. You can make your movie like a real film with the right coloring!

  • HEY I have a question... is the sgpro a lens?

and how does he get that blurry focus effect?

  • not sure about the sgpro thingy, but to get the blurry focus effect you can buy a neutral density filter lens, which cost like 13$, they're really cheap and make your shots look really pro! :D

  • Andyax im a huge fan. what settings did u use to give it this movie like quality effect?

  • Do you have a video that shows how to mount the 50mm lens with the 35mm adapter? I'm new to video production and I'm trying to get the most out of my Canon XHA1S. Also could you please explain what the difference between 24f and 25p is? Thank you for responding.

  • How did you mount a 50mm lens with a 35mm adapter on a Canon XHA1? I thought the XHA1 could not switch lenses. My Canon XHA1 footage looks nothing like this and I use Color in Final Cut as well. This is amazing.

  • @Doctorb223 You answered your own question. I used a 35mm adapter to mount it. F.ex the SgBlade. ;)

  • Where are you guys from :D?

    Awesome language^^

  • beautifil movie and sound track. like the atmosphere, the suspence, the acting.

Tanks from an italian director and screenplayer.

Can i know the name of the author of music?

    tanks again

    Pier Latino Guidotti

  • For example, that Lense combo seems great. Did you just have to click a button and it enhanced all the colors in the program? How hard is to to transfer to DVD or computer? What program do you use, I have a PC..How did you edit the sounds, does it pick up a lot of sound? As you can see I have many questions!

  • @lolahcryt Send me a PM. I will answer when I got time :)

  • Is there a differrent way if you don't mind I can't send you a bunch of questions? Before I make this purchase I would like ot speak to someone who knows about it?

  • Also, out of the box recording, would it have the movie look like this? Or did you have to spend hours editing to get this look?

  • Hi cool video. Are you using more than one Camera? I'm looking to get into film making and for the beginning shots when you keep cutting in live motion, are there 2 or 3 cameras set up? Or Are you using one camera? Any help would be great

  • @lolahcryt Hi :) Thanks! One camera! Just repeat the scene with differant angles.

The only thing I did to recieve this look is to use an 35mm adapter with an 50mm lens, and a program called Color, to fix the colors :)

  • good work, but camcoder to much shaking.

  • such beautiful work ......wht is this sg pro .....is it 35 mm adapter ?

  • Yes so that you can use camera lenses to record video, ex. Fisheye lense or telescopic. It Will give u a "cinema Movie" look.

  • Hey man your sequences are great. Are you working on a solid film?

  • @codeman1337 Thanks! No, eveything I shoot is in HDV 1440x1080 :)

  • If you add a cold color correction, and make it a little darker, this could affect me dramaticly!

  • Man, this looks fantastic!

  • Anders I am a huge fan of your work! I love it and perhaps we can do some work together...maybe a music video? Interested?

    HAHAHAHAHAHH

  • @isaacreain Thanks! :) I was about to say yes until the "HAHAHAHAHA"-part.

Hehe, no I'm kidding. It's hard because you live in USA, and I'm planning of making films here in Norway :/

  • What lens and SGPro adapter model did you use here Andyax?

  • @Maxnoviya I used the old SGPro adapter, but today it's called SgBlade. The lens I used is called Pentax 50mm f1.7. I found it on ebay! :)

  • Was this shot in 60i, 30f or 24f?

  • I'm guessing 24f.

  • @acekingie Thats right. Or as you can say: 25f. Here in Europe we use PAL and therefore 25f ;)

  • did you use any lighting equipment?

  • @bibget Not at all actually. The lens I used has a very low aperture. Pentax 50mm f1.7 :)

  • Oh awesome! I'm actually getting this camera in a few days, so that's encouraging! I can obtain awesome images relatively easy!

  • Add me to your fan club. You need to come to Philly.

  • you are my hero.

  • @kamalbocat Hehe thanks! :)

  • Great Job Kid!!!

  • I like your work. honestly it seems like you've been doing this for a while, i could totally see you working with real 35mm very soon, if you arent already.

  • @iandud3 Thank you so much! I have used the Red One a lot now, as you can see in my showreel. I really like that camera :)

  • I enjoyed the video very much and respect the fact that you put good quality work online. I am an owner of this camera as well and you really do it justice.

  • @cooltonetheman1 Thanks! It's really motivating to read your comment! :)

  • this film is veeeeeeeery good

  • you are quite talented.

  • Looks great, i am thinking about buying the xha1 long time and thanks for posting your vids. Makes it easier to give the camera a note. Why didnt you shoot the begining with a stativ?

  • What was your shutter speed set to?? And why didn't you shoot this in HD??

  • Can't wait to see ur stuff on the Big screen baby!

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks! :)

    Yeah it's the same :)

  • wow! great video! .. im inspired! .. planning to get the same camera. What kind of mic did u use?? SOUNDS GREAT! also i noticed u didnt use any type of steady cam (atleast i think so) how come?? u use them on all your other video??

Love your work! best i've seen on youtube! 11/10 lol

  • Hey! Thank you so much! Very motivating to hear! :) The microphone I used is a Sony ECM-674 ShotGun-mic. A very good mic. It costed around 430$.

Hehe, good question about the steadycam. Actually I forgot my steadycam at home. And this film was shot at my cabin, some hour away with car. And since we had very short time to shoot, I didn't drive home to get it :P

Thanks again for your comment! :)

  • oh ok .. still came out GOOD! gave it that intense feel! i felt like i was there running with them! hehe!

anyway thanks for the response keep up the good work!

    hoping you put subtitles..

  • Hey i have a question, what's a steadycam?

  • a steadicam is a device that isolates the camera movement and thats where u get that SMOOTH shot! .. theres a numerous amount of videos on steadicam reels or demos.. look it up its cool!

  • Hey what microphones you used? pretty good man!

  • Sony ECM-674 ShotGun-mic. A very good mic. It costed around 430$ :)

  • OMG, One of the best i seen on youtube 5/5

  • wow this is awesome man your really good at what you do keep this up! can you tell what editing software you use please?

  • Thanks! :) I use Final Cut Pro.

  • it blew my breath away.

  • Wow thanks! :) That was more then I expected hehe :)

  • If you want to see this movie, go to Vimeo(dot)com and search for SgPro. Sort by "most liked" and you will find it :) Or search for me: Anders Øvergaard on Vimeo.

  • would you upload the origanal footage of this with out the color correction because my canon xh a1 colors suck and i want to see how much work you've put into this

  • im sold lol cheers dude

  • Did u teach yourself how to use Color? im certified in Final Cut and now im thinking about doing the same for Color...

  • Yeah i did :) Good luck!

  • Stupid youtube took the sound off, but the quality of the video is great... I need me one of these.

  • What kind of lens did you use and how much did your whole setup cost?

I'd love to achieve a similar image to your film.

  • I have the same question. and the audio doesn't work. =( do you have another link to the video? you can upload the whole thing at youku . com but you might want to know Chinese... haha

  • Just absolutely awesome. Great optical, great locations. Although I'm an amateur, I think I will buy a XH A1 too. I wish I could film like you ;)

  • I just got this camera. Its been ordered now if I can only learn to use it as well as you have. It gives me high hopes seeing your work with this piece of equipment.

  • The thing is, that I used the camera with an adapter called SgPro. It will give you the 35mm look (film-look). You can find it at shoot35(dot)com :) And I have edited the colors in a software called "Color". I adjusted the colors manually :)

  • dude your so sick at making movies its not even funny. great job man

  • Awesome film, too bad we can't see the second part of it.

I noticed the whole film was shot handheld, and you say you used the SGPro adaptor. That's one of the heavier adaptors out there, didn't your arms come off right after shooting?

Also, didn't you find it hard to pull focus while holding AND moving the camera?

I'm very interested in knowing why you chose that particular adaptor over others that are supposed to be lighter in weight (brevis or letus).

Thanks man, keep up the great work!

  • HI, compliment, its beautyfull short movie, good camera!i love this color! I have a Panasonic HVX200, not bad, Are you Director?

  • can someone plz explain what sg pro is and how it works...plz. so is this camera full HD or what? It has slow motion right?

  • your question is strange, heh! SGPRO is an adaptor for the lens which is being used on this video. That camera can record in normal definition and High definition, yes, but slowmotion is an option that has to be done in postproduction.

  • so sg pro is similar to a 35 mm adapor?

  • yep, that's exactly. And there're several manufacturers... Letus35 or M2.

  • I am amazed at how well this was put together! Are you using one camera or 2? I too just bought the XH A1. This camera is superior!

  • I think he used one camera. The thing is that you have to take some shots from diferent places.

  • That's right :) Thanks Gyrokevin11 :)

  • looks amazing... what soundtrack is this?

  • Nice Film...

  • im getting this camera soon!

  • I love the film. i have seen many short films and there are few as good as this. I loved the handheld stuff. It was really great. So you used a 35mm adapter and apple's color to achieve this look? It really looks great. Congratulations from MEXICO.

  • Really really good! Didn't know you had a Youtube account, Anders! I'll definitely check it more often:)

  • this is just amazing!

  • Its the Soundtrack of "The Village" right?Fits wonderfull, althougth the camera style reminds me at the village...Great shots!Very good work with the 35mm adapter...wish i could work with one;) How much you pay for the SgPro?

  • kul den. prøv å kutt litt mindre

  • THIS MOVIE IS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE!

This could easily be a preview from a proffesional Norwegian movie!

    5 stars + favoritted!

  • SYK fokus jobb uten follow focus! Imponerende:)

  • Stå på ! knallbra

  • Have you used some preset in the cam?

  • No preset on the cam. Just color grading in a program called "Color".

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I'm am getting the same camera and it will work. I would love some subtitles as well. WHat did you use to get the sound?

  • Thanks! =)

To record the sound I used SONY ECM-674. I attached this shotgun mic to my XH A1.

  • This is a very well done and interesting short film. I loved every shot in the film and you've managed to keep me glued to the screen beginning to end. I recommend adding some subtitles. Good job!

  • Thanks! =) I was planning of adding subtitles, if someone wanted that. But I have to see if I get the time to do it. Remember that this was just the first 10 minutes of the film :)

  • This is quite honestly some of the best footage I've ever seen done on an XH A1, and its magnified by the usage of the SgPro. The shots are masterful and the coloring is spot on. I applaud you!! Is there any chance you could send me the uncompressed file?? I'm getting an XH A1 soon and I'd like to see the camera used at its full potential (as demonstrated by you)

  • Add &fmt=18 to the link to watch in HQ quality! :D
