It's so sad, in movies with the wtc they always edit it out. Even in tv shows like the Simpsons they edit all those old scenes out. :( great vid btw :)
Billions of people crying for the day of hell and deth, 9/11. No one need do die like this... People burn to deth. The biggest people took there lifes only to save other lifes. The firemen fight only to make the towers stands on the ground. I dont even understand that people joking about this!!! New york will always be the city that makes people happy. And why think about the bad things? Dont forget the good things about WTC. At 2013 its the new One WTC done. Thats a member of the day 9/11. WTC
8:46am and 9:03am on Tuesday September 11th 2001 were the worst moments in American history. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center hit by hijacked civilian airliners. Just as horrific were 9:59am and 10:28am, the times when the two most spectacular buildings the world had ever seen were destroyed. R.I.P World Trade Center and all of the people in the buildings when they collapsed as well as the passengers and flight crews of American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 :'(
Why did it have to be the twin towers?? (I obviously know why) No matter if it was some terrorists from a cave or a sophisticated inside job that knocked them down, they took down the coolest buildings in America, and I never got to go there...
Thank you, h2opolodan11 ... I have now added this to my playlist titled, "Do You Remember?" What a beautiful tribute... for many years I saw these towers as I landed at Newark (now also called Liberty) airport, as well as having the honor one time back in '85 to eat at "Windows of the World" in one of the towers. Thanks for reminding those of us who need to be reminded of all the reasons/meaning they stood for, and how they are being rebuilt, albeit in a different way.
I just watched the last half of the Sylvester Stalone movie "Daylight" and at the end when they are in the water and on the dock, you see the World Trade Center towers in the background. One of the last shots you see in that movie is the towers on a sunny morning. It eerily reminded me of September 11, 2001. It was so sunny that day. The towers were featured in so many tv show and movies. Sex and the City comes to mind also. It was in the intro to that show and shown a lot.
I found this video after watching Home Alone 2 a few days ago. They edited out the scene where Kevin McAllister is on the observation deck. That made me really sad. Glad I got to see it honored here.
@EuadorooBrasil4114 I wonder why they edit things like that out. you would think they would keep scenes like that in movies as a way to remember the towers, not to pretend they didn't exist.
im still having the pictures in mind... were i was standing in front of this HUGE bulding...
its like yeasterday... i had to lay my head in the neck maximum to see the top from the ground...
in the speed elevator.. there was a guy who were talking about the fastnes about the elevtor and levels of the bulding... evrything was so damm hug.. its making me xry to think what were happend... i loved the WTC
Thank you Dan for this. This morning I was thinking about my parents who both died on 9/11 when I was 11 and how much I missed them. My sister also died in Iraq in 2006. Beautiful video, thank you.
I'm glad people at least care. Other people make videos of the attack putting happy music on and saying its funny. 3000 people dying is funny? I don't think so. Tell that to the victims kids. Nice video. Made me cry. :')
This video is amazing! It makes me wanna cry. I didn't though. RIP to the people that died on 9/11 and RIP twin towers! I'll always remember. I'v never been to NewYork but those towers seemed awesome especially at the top. Now they are sadly gone! :( Great video!
Would you happen to have pics or film of the inside of the WTC? Plaza or...Skyline Cafe? For some reason, the song "You and Me Against the World" comes to mind.
I love the music. One vid I wish I could make would include the music CENTRAL PARK from King Kong (2005) and the WTC scene in the King Kong from 1976. If only I had the first clue how to do that. I'm still trying to figure out how a couple of buildings, I've NEVER seen from the INSIDE, makes me so sad to be without. If I've given anyone an idea for a WTC tribute, go for it!
THIS is how we need to remember the World Trade Center, NOT burning for 1 to 2 hours then collapsing. We owe it to all the victims of the towers to remember what they stood for, AMERICA, and the largest city in America, New York!!
Great work, man I loved those buildings, and boy can I tell great stories about them. I am a 9-11 Truther and I will not harp on my opinion on this tragety now
amazing video! so inspiring and the music is lovely, it makes me proud to be a new yorker :( I'm gonna miss those towers, the skyline ain't the same without em. i hope the new wtc can live up to the memories of the twin towers and the people who worked there that we all hold dearly in our hearts.
@MrsWLeach lol, well I have lived and grew up on the east end of Long Ilsand so the city is only about an hour away. but it was just going over the brooklyn bridge, or the midtown bridge and seeing them towering above everything else, and seeing them at night...just two giant rectangular blocks of shimering lights. they were beautiful both on the inside and out. I can remembver not long after 9/11 I went into the city and not seeing them was a total blow, still is today!!
@1983faithfully I can imagine! From other vids I've seen, and books I've read, the WTC was like a little city. It was a place of work and socializing (Windows on the world) and the plaza shops, and of course, exploring. Just going to the top was an adventure. There's another vid about people visiting the top. Even an episode of Taxi mentioned them. New York's pride and joy. The ONLY good thing to come out of that awful time was that it showed New Yorkers their own heart and strength.
@MrsWLeach o gosh they were huge!!!!!!! there was so much in them!!! at the top of the north tower there was a beautiful revolving restraunt, and the observation deck ontop of the south tower was extrodinary. and it most definatlely did show many new yorkers there true colors. the city has definately changed since then. we can never get those two beautiful building back but the unity is still there and even more love which is more beautiful.
@1983faithfully If someone were to write a story about that day and time, they'd have to 'borrow' from Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, only in reverse; "It was the Worst of times. It was the Best of times....." There is a documentary called '7 Days in September', and a scene were two people were sooo stressed that they were arguing, even though they were on the same side of the discussion. Debates. Mass HUGGINGS. New Yorkers surprised at New Yorkers. In a GOOD way!!!
It's amazing how many events can be traced back to that one moment. all the paranoia, wars, politics, millions dead around the world. It's always been there, but this one moment accelerated everything to something that I didn't think was imaginable when I turned 21 that year. The year I was smacked awake.

@youngkid1021 True! In theory. Then again, if there was an actual 40 foot monkey on the roof, I'm guessing he would have made a bit of a dent on a few floors down. Then again, how much did that tower weigh? The...transmitter on one of the towers? All the stuff that went with that? Theoretically speaking, it's POSSIBLE the roof could have supported him. Wonder if the new tower will have an observation deck?

Trading Places and Enjoy the Silence have some pretty amazing views of the WTC. I never realized how wild it was just to see the other tower from the top until I saw that Depeche Mode video.
@jayjaygo24 The music used is a mash-up of "Allison At The Stoplight" and "John Rescued / Resolution". Both are reprisals of the "World Trade Center Theme", composed by Craig Armstong and are found on the soundtrack of "World Trade Center". Thanks for watching! :)
i loved those buildings. they were the most amazing man-made masterpieces that i ever laid eyes upon. i was obsessed with new york as a child and those towers surely made you aware that it was New York City territory you were entering. Seeing something of that scale created by human beings put me in awe of how powerful a human brain really is. The sky ISN'T the limit. We have been blessed with infinite wisdom.
I am also not a New Yorker and not an American. I am just a sad onlooker who feels an immense amount of sympathy for all the people who lost their lives that day, and their families. This is a really beautiful tribute to these amazing buildings, well done to the uploader.
I hope all the souls that were lost almost 10 years ago on this dreadful day are resting in peace.
Brilliant video, from chili, I remember the day that we were in the viewing-point of the south tower, it was looking for the windows down and me dava shivers, and with my cousin on jumping over the window .... that irony, I remember a very luxurious restorant of the north tower to that us my uncle, I take tape-worm 11 years at the time, to the following month, already they were not more,An affectionate embrace and the whole support for the people of good faith in NUEW YORK.
@Romerjon17 Unfortunately, the 'CANCER' has escalated too far. Killing one cancer cell, even if it's the first one, is almost immaterial. The 'cancer' itself has to be destroyed. But it's a matter of dealing with their collective world view. If you know anything about Cults, Al Quida is kinda like super nasty Moonies!
I know some of you want to see a part two to this... I can TRY to make one on Sony Vegas Pro if you would all like that. No guarantees though... who would like to see a second one?
Great to see this. Never saw the WTC, but I did see Ground Zero in March '02. I would have loved to see the Austin J Tolbin Plaza, eat at Windows on the World, and go to the roof of One WTC. Heck, I would have liked to see it all. Seeing this video and never getting the chance to see the original WTC made me cry. At least on an up note, at least they are rebuilding the Freedom Tower similar to the North Tower, and not the design they unveiled back in '05. I hope I get to see the WTC someday.
@dvr4fun There was a ...I think it was a t.v. movie with Tom Hanks, who played a guy who was heavy into a Dungeons and Dragons type game role-playing game and his friends discovered where he was headed to finish off his character. It was at the top of one of the towers. Does anyone know the name of that movie.
You seriously need to make a sequel to this video! Even though this one is awesome, there were numerous other films and music videos. Here are some you can use: -Splash -Saturday Night Fever -the rutles: all you need is cash -Superman: the movie -superman 2 -the Wiz -Kramer vs. Kramer -Ghostbusters -Krush Groove -Crocodile Dundee -Moonstruck -Wall Street -When Harry Met Sally -the Coneheads -Oliver and company -stepmom Make a sequel!!!!!!
I really miss the twin towers. If i looking into NY's Skyline i don't see this really wonderful thing. I only saw the Towers on pictures and videos. I'm 16 now and i really want to go to NY and visit the Mumorial , but i know that i don't see these towers. I miss the so much and wish they would rebuild them... I wish these day were never happened...! :( Or that the terrorists made a mistake... but it's happened and we all only can remember these wonderful towers! RIP :(
I hate the idea of Freedom Tower and so does most the country and other countries. They wanted them to go with Ken Gardner's idea of Towers II, where the Twin Towers would've been rebuilt right next to the footprints of the original towers that would've been made into honorable memorials. Towers II beat Freedom Tower in every voting poll but apparently the government doesn't seem to care. Even the survivors of 9/11 and the families of the 9/11 victims wanted them to go with Towers II.
Everytime I think about the attacks I can't help but think about this one thing; everyday 5000 tourists visited the WTC and imagine that you go to visite and than a plane flies in to the building, you're stuck and than the building collapses under you... Dang, what a way to go! Then you are really screwed! Maybe you're not if you get to heaven than hopefully there are no muslim terrorists flying planes there...
@robertdevald Actually no tourist were on the observation deck,at the 107 floor, since it opened at 9 AM and the first plane crushed around 8:45 AM, so no tourists were on the roof...specially on the Top Of the World (that's how the 107 th floor observation deck was called...
@TheNfsDriftking That was truly a horrible day 911 I think everybody should watch the video of the attacks and think for a few seconds how many innocent lives were lost that day. And that how much the new tower will not fit in New York, it is just not right. I once read a comment; "When those towers were standing I hated them they were just big grey boxes, but now that they are gone I miss them very much". Bye
@robertdevald "Don't it always seem to go. That you don't know what you got til it's gone." "And when one of us is gone and one of us is left alone to carry on. Then remembering will have to do. Our memories alone will get us through." (From "Big Yellow Taxi" and "You and Me against the World."
Nice.I was there before and after. There will always be pain. Other clips were The Dream Team, Men in Black, The Usual Suspects, The Nanny, Barney Miller. They should have built them with more stability, but the same designs. That would have been great.
Such a beautiful group of clips. I love the clip from The Simpsons, it was one of my favorite gags from the show ever. May we always remember those killed that day, because they went to work or took a plane ride.
Seeing the twin towers untouched fills me with this feeling of peace inside me. It feels strange, knowing that they're not there anymore, but were once standing. I went in august 2001 and saw them and took them for granted, only took 2 pictures and said I'll come next year and care more. Well...it never happened, and all I have are two sodden pictures left...
Visiting the World Trade Centers are a dream that even most Americans could only hope for.And they were destroyed by people that did not deserve to be in our country.I only wish I could have seen them in person.GOD BLESS AMERICA,R.I.P.to the victims of 911,and the next towers to be built,I will visit! And us americans,we are going to make sure they are not destroyed.911,NEVER AGAIN!
I am writing a screenplay about 9/11. One of the pre-9/11 scenes I have is the characters having a "hooky day" and they enjoy all of New York including the observation deck of the world trade center. This scene happens exactly 1 day before 9/11
@christinahildebrand1 Good luck, or break a leg, or something. Show biz talk. That sounds like fun! Playing hookey, going to the skyline Cafe and staring at a BIGGER New York than there was from a classroom. I'm there!
Always dreamed on going to New York City and go to the observatory of the World Trade Center as a child. Fuck the terrorists pigs who brought these towers down! I'm 22 now, and I will be there when they are finished with One World Trade Center and the 9/11 museum.

Trading Places and Enjoy the Silence have some pretty amazing views of the WTC. I never realized how wild it was just to see the other tower from the top until I saw that Depeche Mode video.

What is the background music that is being played ? Thank you, John.
jayjaygo24 5 months ago

RIP :(
Rummeltobi 1 year ago

Maybe you're not if you get to heaven than hopefully there are no muslim terrorists flying planes there...
robertdevald 1 year ago
@robertdevald Actually no tourist were on the observation deck,at the 107 floor, since it opened at 9 AM and the first plane crushed around 8:45 AM, so no tourists were on the roof...specially on the Top Of the World (that's how the 107 th floor observation deck was called...
misled1982 1 year ago
@spjfrat The solution is not to make them stronger it is not to fly a goddamn plain into the fricking structure! It is not built for that.
robertdevald 1 year ago
@TheNfsDriftking That was truly a horrible day 911 I think everybody should watch the video of the attacks and think for a few seconds how many innocent lives were lost that day. And that how much the new tower will not fit in New York, it is just not right. I once read a comment; "When those towers were standing I hated them they were just big grey boxes, but now that they are gone I miss them very much". Bye
robertdevald 1 year ago

I am writing a screenplay about 9/11. One of the pre-9/11 scenes I have is the characters having a "hooky day" and they enjoy all of New York including the observation deck of the world trade center. This scene happens exactly 1 day before 9/11
