  • Awesome

  • Yonatan Zohar didn't invent closed recirculating system any more than Al Gore invented the internet.

  • Fish are *animals*, just like us (we're not made of mud in the shape of god as we like to think, you know), not a vegetable.

Fishing (that is, fish hunting) is sick, barbaric and bloody MURDER.

  • @rakelthe1 and i like to call it nature's way of keeping my tummy full and content, i think a fish does not care if it gets caught by a human or a predatory animal(perhaps they even prefer to be caught by us for the slim release chance)but please stop this idiotic banter,i'm not a 'fish-killer' i'm a human being trying to get his much needed protein from a sustainable, safe and affordable source and i really don't give a *** about the KIND of animal, i care about the way it has lived it's life.

  • @nevyn1 Well I do agree with you that killing fish is not murder etc. I mean if you ever saw a grizzly bear eat salmon you know that nature is not always kind. But from a nutritional point of view meat is not the best source of protein for you body. Human beings are almost exclusively herbivores. This has been proven on many levels. Meat is not the most efficient way for us to get protein. Just the fact that we have to cook it proves that we are not carnivores or omnivores.

  • @copperpaint the positioning of our eyes at the front of our face is a strong suggestion we are predatory animals don't you think?

i do agree with you that western society has a ridiculous view on protein and we eat way to much meat, but supplementing our diet with insect protein would be a very healthy and affordable way to get around the problems conventional farming is causing today

  • Aquaponics is definately the way to go, mine is completely selfsufficient, solar powered, uses no herbicides, pesticides, or fertilzer. Once you purchase the intital supplies it has a 0 carbon footprint.

  • can anyone recgonize the music in the background? thanks

  • @morroida9966

Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent)

    Trance 4 life!

  • but is it cost effective?

  • Its neither new nor revolutionary. Its called aquaculture.

Now aquaponics... thats a different story!

  • "... toxic-free environment..." wake up synclady :-)

  • I would like to watch the full video and I couldn't find it on the website?! Can anybody send the video to me... Thanks.

  • open net farms on the ocean are bad for spread of disease and parasites to wild fish. We need on-land saltwater farm technology!!! It could provide a much needed option of change! What this idea is missing? A saltwater plant that could do two things.. 1. clean the water with its roots(to lower the cost of cleaning 2. Be itself, an edible or perhaps usefull product

I would lean more for edible in #2 because it sounds more sustainable but maybe fertilizer, organic soap, food for the fish

  • GO ISRAEL! SHALOM!

  • @Hmoob54321

Yeah, because THAT's what this is about.

You and every other "patriotic" imbecile from around the world are the problem. As soon as the majority of you self-righteous dipshits figure out that EARTH doesn't give a shit about your man-made laws and man-made boundaries and man-made religions....then, and only then will you start to think of life from a more grand perspective. To the degree that you wake up from your indoctrination, you will find truth.

  • @csreeves (cont.)

    Hmoob...

PS If you're truly interested in understanding backyard AquaCulture/AquaPonics (rather than puking up your patriotic agenda)...take a look at what the folks in Great Britan's old "island prison" (i.e. Australia) are doing with this subject.

  • @csreeves someones pessimistic......

  • Donate to this? Are you serious?

Thumbs down for E-begging. You make your own way on the internet.

  • @CMLovejoy

When did they ever beg to donate?

You'd be supprised how many people are willing to donate to causes that dont appear to 'need' a donation.

  • @moondy11 Don't you see that menu on your page?

    "Donate to this organization"

No! if its a good invention then it will make its own way in the world and be productive and create it's own profit.

This is just a scheme to create money, not to create productive inventions that will benefit human man kind.

I'm a problem solver too, but I never ask for donations because I'm able to sell my solutions to fund my research.

  • @CMLovejoy The people who buy your solutions, do they use them or do they just shelve them to prevent competition form the new solutions?

  • Better off sticking with fresh water systems. Seems to me this system would only attract big investors, of little value to the average person. But hey... he's the Zohan. To those who are rich and want to get richer in eco-style (Tyson,GV,etc)... have fun. I'm still hoping one day we won't rely on anyone but ourselves for food and I believe fresh water systems have much more practicality in that case, so I guess I'm biased. On the other hand.... it's great work.

  • @badjester80 salt water would be cheaper for those on the coast. Who can charge you for sea water? Clean Fresh water is getting scarce and competes for human consumption. Their is no end to the oceans.

  • Also I made a grammar error "for plants" Not from plants. Sorry for the error

  • Gladly! The waste from the fish could be used for nutrients from plants. No need for artificial fertilizers!

  • Fish Farming is excellent but sanitation is very important and must be addressed. We must build very open and large fish farms. Even spreading seed eggs and sending millions of baby fishes out to the open sea to catch later is possible and is one of the cleaner methods. Although it will take much more energy.

  • @heartlessvietboy Great points. The industry still has room for improvement.

  • @ISRAEL21cdotcom wha everyone needs in Aquaponics! Its the future!

  • @ISRAEL21cdotcom iagree there is room for improvment i think that if you took your technology with greenlearning clip[ then the world could definitely benefit you grow fish to feed the vegetables to make fuel for cars so we wouldnt have to rely on gas.

  • @heartlessvietboy You want to revolutionize food then incorporate the fish farms into agricultural machine.

  • Please elaborate.

  • @heartlessvietboy You use a method called aquaponics where the plants clean the water the fish pollute this way you have a an entire eco system where all parties benefit. Use solar pumps and solar water heaters to save energy. This set up uses less water and yields a lot of food. But you have to use fresh water species of fish I think those listed are all salt water fish.

  • I don't know if aquaponics will work. Rather be safe than sorry. Spawn fish eggs, wait til' they hatch and send them out to sea is a better method. We first need to clean our oceans using pumps. But photo-voltaic electricity is good.

  • This could be the future. Micro-ecology...use a solar powered circulation and heat system. Waste could be processed to produce fish feed supplements in a nearby plot or as fertilizer for agriculture. Regional farms means minimal carbon footprint as shipping is local and the fuel to power a fishing fleet is eliminated. Isolated farming means lower risk of disease and food contamination. Locals get hired to raise their own food. Could be done anywhere. Win win win!!!

  • i never thought izrael so advanced

  • weve been doing this in nigeria since so its nothing new

  • The Israeli grow alot of food in areas that most people think would be useless. No need to poison the world with GMOs. No need to waste money shipping food and relief to third world nations. Show them how to do this Israeli intensive but water wise, farming. Add in fish and let them take care of themselves. Once they have this at their fingertips they have no more excuses. A people should be given a chance to take care of themselves. A REAL man wants to take care of themselves. If they won't ...

  • Best is to reduce the need for food.

Western countries throw away 50% of food because it is not "economically" useable.

And then stop wasting good food by feeding it to animals just to get 1kg of bad food after 20kg of good food is feed to the cows.

  • @llothar68 Reduce the need for food ? Im not sure how that works. I like meat , i was designed to eat meat, it makes up around 5 percent of my diet so thats not a bad thing.

  • For the future the best way to Farm and fish should be indoors

    1. Inside a building is cleaner (on a farm you get pestisides and in the ocean you get mercuary)

    2. a controled enviornment (the best temperature to grow fish and your veggies Remember Inside there are no seasons)

  • fish are very delicate and do not like to change environment.

  • exactly, by keeping them indoors there is always a constant environment

  • @ragingtorpedos you do not make any sense, so get some education & do not be a racist.

  • Homie is about 10-15 years behind on this "new" method. WOW

  • i was wondering the same thing, we have been farming fish for years now, even slatwater fish hich im assuming by what this video is about

  • Creative. I wonder what they feed the fish.

  • pfft- hype and bullshit.

1000's of people around the world already raise fish. This is a weak attempt at copying.

  • No, this is a more responsible way of Aqua Culture. If you had ACTUALLY been to a "fish farm" you would know how badly they treat the fish, how dirty everything is, and how badly they waste WATER and other resources. Most of them simply throw out the water and pump fresh water out of the ground instead of filtering out the ammonias and other contmainants and reusing. I would rather eat HEALTHY, HAPPY fish from my own backyard than have it shipped thousands of miles for DAYS filed with mercury

  • ignorant. farming this way makes the fish sick cause it lives in it's own shit. what is healthy about that?

  • actually, the water stays CLEANER than in the natural water ways because you use LARGE amounts of hydroponic nutrient filtration..which costs nothing to replace and supplies TONS of fresh vegetables. BTW, you speak as if you've done this before...when obviously you are just going around trying to dispel myths and rumors to make it harder for people like me to make a difference in this world. You are what we call a "hater"...suck bawls and die.

  • how can water stay cleaner than in the natural water? everything men touches on this planet is for money-making business only not to "save the planet" as you described it. Nikola Tesla has given us free energy . where is it now? we still use fossils and other stupid shit we don't need. But you rather believe this crap about "saving the ocean"? why? so you can eat some fish? you know nothing about health and nothing about the world so no! you die!

  • @Rikiru I agree with all but the end. Don't resort to insults to defend your ideals. I know trolls on the internet can get you angry but it tends to overshadow your actual point.

  • well, its better then haveing the fish live in OUR shit

  • @ragingtorpedos You are truly stupid, & your comments do not even make sense, so shut the hole where your mommy forgot to shut!

  • @aTime4UandMe Shut up!!! Go pray!!! hahaha..lol !!!

  • Well back to the drawing board.

You think that he didn't think about that?

I mean just the notion that you even think a system would be designed without eliminating that problem being a prerequisite is ridiculous.

There are all kinds of ways to keep the water clean.

Besides, all fish live in their own shit.

  • what

  • @bohemiangrove Fish farming diseses are caused by large concentrations of fish and not enough changing of water.

Keeping them indoors would eliminate alot of the pests that give fish farming a bad name.

Hopefully in the future we will be able to breed all seafood in farms and let the seas recover.

  • Its just a form to hold the water - of course its like a swimming pool. The technique which creates seawater condition, the filter system, the system which keep the water alive is whats so "revolutionary" about.

Actually its nothing new, people breed and harvest fish since decades even centurys! BUT people have never breed seawater/saltwater fish since a few years ago.

You can look up all this "revolutionary" inventions in old scientific books about water or fishfarming!

  • humans are not ruminants, therefore cant live on veges alone. Thats why when you see a "vegetarian" they look like they are having keemo.

  • yea, i quite agree with u . VEGE'S don't have to turn Humans to ruminants

  • @oggmttkmbbms Apparently vegetarians create more flatus than someone on a balanced diet. So i always associate them with farts.

  • Crock703, what would be even better would be if people grew their own veggies. Food transportation accounts for quite a bit of its cost. I plan on growing my own veggies, raising free range chickens (for eggs), perhaps keeping a goat for milk, and raising fish in a pool (naturally filtered). If my calculations are correct, I should be able to support a family for practically free this way. We'll see. You're right though, meat=veggies+time. Why not just eat veggies?

  • The fact that they will never know what their "real environment" looks like is kind of weird but humans have to do what it takes to live.

  • Not exactly a new concept... in asia, they raise the fish in nets under the family's HOUSEBOAT!!

There's a trapdoor in the living room, they roll up the carpet and open the trapdoor and feed the fish homeade food... crazy shit to see.

  • That is cool. What is the name of the ethnic group that does this, their region? .. some identifying keyword so I can google it.

  • well, none of the truly brilliant plans are new, they are old ones that have been forgotten about, but later reapplied in a all new way. My favorite example. Underground pipes for water transport(ancient site of petra)

  • Don't knock this they made a solution to a serious problem that people will accept.

This is a green fish farm if you go and search for more information you'd know this.

  • dam commercial fish hogs this is cool

  • smart and better for the planet thanruining the fishing stocks.. still thats kind of fucked up to think that we'll grow animals in the city & slaughter at young adulthood, with them never having lived in their natural environment. animal farming is fucked up

  • so what you think it has to be done cause everybody says no fishig and other say no farming so what it is supposed to be. What does people are suposed to eat

  • What we need to do it eat more veggies and raise less meat to meet our food needs while we let the fish stocks recover for a few or more decades.

Either way, this is a shitty way of life. We have too many people.

more vegetables, grains, etc.. calorie for calorie you can get far more output from an acre of land when you plant food on it, than when you use it to raise meat. Tofu and other protein rich veggies can replace meat in your diet needs.

  • sounds ok

i like meat a lot, but i cuold do some vegetables but remember agriculture also has its drawbacks

  • the amazon rainforrest is being destroyed to grow soy products to feed idiots like you. eat a balanced diet and grow your brain

  • I wont do your math for you. Do your research.

  • research suggests you are a vegetable

  • oggmttkmbbms is totally right.

The rainforest gets massive destroyed because some brainless vegetarians "naturefriends" want to eat their soybeans, soymeat and palmoil.

But there are far more guilty people for the destruction of the rainforest. The most guilty are the tobacco smokers, teakwood buyers, soy bean eaters and the palm oil users!!!

  • I think the goverments of the countries that neighbour the rainforest should not allow for the destruction and should protect it for the sake of our planet and humanity.

  • oooooo fish fa rm
