If heaven could have an organist,i wish it could be Paul Jacobs. What an amazing organist.Every performance simply breathtaking. One of the best of our time without a doubt!
My name is Paul Jacobs and I too play the organ. I have a passion for tone which came from many years of playing the electric guitar and building guitar amplifiers. 'Tone' to the musician is equal to water for the swimmer. If you get too wrapped up in it you can drown, but if you master it then it works to your advantage. Yes, you can almost communicate with someones soul if you master the dynamic range of an organ.
Played 2 different Hammond TW's for years, but just got a Wurlitzer 625T $100!
Mr. Jacobs is amazing... No one that I know as an organist can make this instrument of God sing more than he can - he exudes joy - I just want to stand and cheer whenever I hear him play. He is gifted and talented beyond words.
It's been said that Paul's extraordinary success all comes down to the fact that he possesses the rare ability to truly communicate through his organ playing. I think this video is a perfect example of that. I don't think I've ever enjoyed and been so moved by the 4th movement of Mendelssohn 1 this much!
