This is a splendid performance of a Bulgarian folk dance from the Shopp-Torlak (Shopsko-Torlashko) region, where Sofia, Bulgaria's capital, is located.
Greetings from an American descendant of Bulgarians from Aegean Macedonia and Pirot in the Shopp-Torlak region!
Please, stop with this FYROM-Skopje "ethnic Macedonian" nonsense. The whole world is laughing at you.
This is a melody from the Shopp region of Western Bulgaria, which includes the Bulgarian capital Sofia. My father is "Macedonian" and my mother "Shopp." In other words, they are both ETHNIC BULGARIANS.
Just enjoy the beautiful music played so well by our talented Swedish Friend!
ba sarmalele reci au furat linia melodicade la astia si au facut melodia aia cu adrian basescu daca se uita aici le transmit ca eu m-am prins si ei ciordesc muzica
hello my friend, i belive that this song are from the shopska region near Sofia in bulgaria. but im not sure i heard it on a tape with a bulgarian accordeonist.
It is a Bulgarian melody from the Shopp-Torlak (Shopsko-Torlashko) region of Western Bulgaria. A section of it extends into Serbia, but the population is Bulgarian. Some of my Bulgarian ancestors are from Pirot, in the Serbian section of the Shopp region.
Your style is unique, because you "mate" balcanic melodies (shopsko) with west drums' styles. And the baseline, I think it has typical western elements, but also a little balcanic style either.
Even though my country's folk (Kosovo) is very different from Slavic music, you guys make Southern slavic music very pleasant (not that it isn't by itself). You already got me to play your clips with my accordion strapped on, trying to immitate...
Congratulations! Another impressive performance of Bulgarian folk music, this particular piece being from the Shopp (Shopsko) region, where the Bulgarian capital city of Sofia is located. THANK YOU! BTW, my Bulgarian roots are from Macedonia and the Shopsko region.
Check your messeges, I send you one! Keep practising, maybe one day some TV in Serbia call you as guests, and you can play on ours weddings, it is good payed :-) bue
Great proposal man, maybe someone really should call them to play in Serbia, I guarantee they will be hit for a while here! Maybe to play as guest in Gucha?! :)))
Hi friends, how's ratzenica going? I listen you very often, Eric, and each time I'm wondering where you learn to play our trilers, great technique! I think I have talent, but if you did it yourself (without help of some our guy in Stockholm)that is for extreme respect! Anyway, bass and drums are exelent, I,m waiting for next video, Bue
i really like the way you play trilers on balkan, its so different from our swedish music.i dont have any teachers here in stockholm but this summer i was in bulgaria for a week where i was visiting Ferko,a great musician and he learned me some trilers. Kindest regards from stockholm
