I'm not a specs snob by any means. I'm sure the Wii U will be entirely capable of delivering great gaming experiences. I'll wait for the software to be there before I buy one, though. Lesson learned from the 3DS.
nintendo has no problem makign a console powerful enough to run games thats gonna be on the 720 and PS4, the N64 was stronger then the PS1 and sega saturn, the gamecube was stronger then the dreamcast and PS2, and sega and nintendo were neck and neck with graphics back in the day, theres no reason to believe nintendo cant make a powerful system, this gen is hardly enough to think that.
The fact that Sony and Microsoft could pull the rug out from under Wii U at any time means I really can't invest in it, which is almost tragic.
Reggie said it right - Wii U is for people with high disposable income; people who can afford to throw money away. I am not one of those people, I need some assurance that my investment in a new premium system will pay off for years to come. I have no confidence in the Wii U's longevity at this time. I hope Nintendo show me something to change my mind

I think the "competition" aspect of the video gaming world has, (and if it hasn't, it should) come to an end in the eighth gen. The eighth gen will be about the EXPERIENCE you get from each console. Nintendo has an experience with motion control, (and now two screens,) Microsoft has an experience with controller free entertainment. And sony...(....don't really know about them) But you see what I'm getting at.

theres no way that will happen, infact with the 720's rumored specs the wii U is twice as powerful, even with that said all 3 consoles would be in range within eachother so 3rd parties have no excuse

If a competitor announces a new system as well, the experience simply will not be the same. It may be new but it won't be the same as what you're getting with wii u. You shouldn't think like that while your buying consoles. They want you to think:"I need to buy this thing to get this 'experience." That's the key word.

But NINTENDO is so gracious they will announce the price of the Wii U so as I can save up for it and a 3D HD tv I plan to get this year or during blackfriday week lol :)

Nintendo will push out TONS of games for 3DS, they will show tons of features of the WII U and a bunch of games coming out with the system they will show the Nintendo Network they will show all the online features which will shock people. Nintendo has lots to talk about at E3 and this year will be very exciting for them.
Sony has already stated that they always said the PS3 is a 10 year system there is 3 more years on that. Which means they wont announce PS4 till next E3 they really want to concentrate on the PSVita pushing really cool games and cool games on the PS3. NOW Microsoft MIGHT announce a new system that is more likely but deep down I still dont think they will since they are at 6 years of life and want to push more games for the kinect. Oh this E3 will be something to remember, I just have that gut feeling. Luckily I will be at Nintendo World as it all unfolds just like I was last year. Nintendo fans have always proven how loyal and rabid we are and it won't stop EVER. The Wii U will be heard all around the world!
The fact that Nintendo made changes to the hardware according to feedback from Team Ninja is very promising.
