Dan potrayed Alan's character very well. Considering this was his first play on stage, I think he did an amazing job. Very intense. Love the Equus story itself -- dark and can be quite disturbing at times. Richard also gave a strong performance (which I had expected since he is another amazing actor. Thumbs up for both of them!!
I was lucky enough to see the play twice. He played the part with such conviction and I think the fact that he was working with Richard Griffiths was a plus. I believe that because he worked with him on this play Daniel was able to focus on the role. It was fabulous and i hoped that someone recorded the show to sell on DVD. It was a must see for those who read the play.

Hm welchen Sinn das hat frag ich mich auch, ich hab den Scheiß gesehen und neben an lief Les Mis un dda fragt man sich schon ob man nicht im falschen Haus sitzt. ich finde es gibt wesentlich besser Stücke, wesenlich bessere, ich meine 6 Pferde erblinden zu lassen uuuhh, ich mag Peter Shaffer nichtm die stücke sind belangenlos...Simon Stephens ist wesentlich besser..wesentlich.
ich würde sagen das ist ansichtssache. es hat eben viel mit psychologie und so zu tun und wenn man sich nicht für sowas interessiert dann interessierts einen eben net und das is ja auch völlig in ordnung :) zudem basiert die story auf ner wahren begebenheit, was die sache nochmal etwas gruseliger macht ;)
also ich finds jedenfalls super schade, dass ich das stück nicht sehen konnte (nacktheit hin oder her, hahaha) :(
Naja, "Psychologie" speilt in jedem stück ne rolle XDD. Der Fanatismus trifft heute nur noch ganz selten auf und selbst die tat an sich würde unter gehen. Die Thematik des Stückes an sich ist doch belangenlos, es gibt so viele gute stücke die die menschlcihe psyche und verletzbarkeit und irre aufarbeiten (z.B: die von Sarah kane). Es ist ein Einzelfall, der im humanen sinne von keiner bedeutung mehr ist. Und aus dem ein zuschauer auch emotional nichts "lernt".

btw - the nakedness belongs to the play and makes it more intense , shows this deeply disturbed young man in his vulnerability...
