@TheBlackycat - Thanks for posting that, I hadn't heard. I actually thought of writing her a letter about this and that in her various books. She's had a very great influence on my speculative-fiction writing style.

The Dragonriders of Pern, a series that kindled my imagination as a younger man, and that helped inspire me to write on my own. This series has touched me in more ways than I can count.

@LightningCount - That and all of her series I've read so far, but one thing I would've liked to ask her, meaning no offense: "Federated Sentient PLANETS? What were you THINKING, grammatically speaking?" ;) (P.S.: For those of you who haven't looked at the Crystal Singer novels, do so. KILLASHANDRA is my favorite of that series, and for me, the most influential.)
