RIP to so many voices lost.....

  • wish I had a tab for this............

  • @RebeccaHewlette

I cant post a link, but look at cowboylyrics. They have a tab up for free.

  • Lord. What a devastatingly haunting and beautifully emotional song. It's more than a song, really - more like a defining moment in someone's life. Todd can make me laugh and smile all day long, but sometimes, when I need a reminder to be kind or appreciate what I have in this life, moments like this reach out and touch me, and just break my heart. Now I gotta go hear the 'hallucinogenic drug football story' for a laugh. Thank you Todd!

  • "Thanks a lot for letting me play it." -- Not something you hear many other artists say. He seems genuinely appreciative to have an audience that listens to him.

If there was never another thing on YouTube, this makes it all worthwhile.

  • Todds a great story teller songwriter singer picker...just awesome

  • Todd Snider is pure. You can't say that about many people.

    God bless you, Eddie.

  • Fabulous writing and sung with the heart of the one and only who can in this way.

  • When todd plays with this much emotion, he is one of the best singer-songwriters of our time....or any time.

  • I had the joy to sit down and eat a few tacos with Billy& Eddy about 1998 on St. Simons Island Georgia. They were playing at my cuzs club "Rafters". They sat with us for about an hour bullshittin' and cuttin' up. Oh yea we did burn a Tator before the night was over.

  • Todd really shines on this. I hated losing Eddie, but my heart truly went out to Billy Joe. The man has had a hard life.

    Thank you for posting it.

    God rest you, Eddie.

  • Slow down Eddie say's Dad. No way ...say's Eddie. bye bye Eddie what a waste of talent.

  • Todd is an amazing songwriter and a great story teller.......another great song he wrote for a friend is play a train song

  • Hoping todd makes it over to england soon. thanks for the video.

  • The best song I've heard in a long, long time.

  • Wow. Sadly intense. I'm really learning to like Todd Snider

  • i have been a Todd Snider fan for 10 years, i admire his song writing so much..... from his humor to his heartfelt songs he is awesome...thanks for sharing

  • I remember when Billy's son was found dead in a Waco Hotel. It was a sad day and a great loss.

  • Todd Snider - one of the kindest hearts in the biz we call show. You can be talented and create beauty without being the shallow fools we are handed daily as "stars". Carry on, barefoot bodhisattva! Walk in Peace, lil buddy!

  • Todd really looks like Tom T Hall in this video

  • Awesomely touching song and performance. I don't know how he can do that without falling apart...I always fall apart listening.

  • This is maybe the most heartbreaking performance I've ever seen. I usually hold it together until the end, when he quotes "Old Chunk of Coal." Then I just completely lose it. Just devestating.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever

  • I think this is a terrific song, such a great raw sometimes very raw, talent. It always sounds like an emotional journey for him, specially so in this video. Thanks for posting it. A very special moment for Todd Snider fans.
