@RWMondak tuning is GDDGAB frpm low to high. and it sounds like he's using a pingpong delay and a lot of reverb. I've been trying to learn this song for awhile. i bought the tabs from candyrat records. its hard.

To those unaware, Alexander Supertramp is a direct reference to Christopher McCandless who's (true) story is chronicled in the film "Into The Wild" which I would hugely recommend to any one! As a footnote, Eddie Vedder wrote the soundtrack for the film which is epic! (Can't believe I just I used "footnote" and "Eddie Vedder" in the same sentence!)

And after watching "Into the Wild", I would highly recommend everyone watch "Alone In The Wilderness"- a documentary film by Dick Proenneke, A dude who went into the Alaskan bush and lived there for 32 years with hardly much more than hand tools and a rifle. McCandless has been made into some folk hero for his idealism. Dick Proenneke gives a stark contrast to that and stands as a counter-point to the consequences of delusional idealism-- versus being prepared and skilled.

Definitely watch the movie but even more so, read the book (same title) by Jon Krakauer. It gives you a better glimpse at who Chris really was. The film is one of my favorites.

Kaki King, another great guitarist, also helped do the motion picture score with Michael Brook. This song really reminds of the soundtrack though.

Good catch... You will notice that he is very deliberate to articulate the low e quite softly- almost so it's just a 'background' highlight. When he engages it with the ebow, you get a better sense of just how far down it is, but yeah. Definitely, he's tuned low.
