Cool video, but I'd like to see more targets being violently destroyed by the A-10. I would like to play any game or flight simulator where there is an option to fly A-10, SR-71, F-111, or B-52, B-2, U-2, F-117 because those are my absolute favorite planes. I absolutely hate C-130. The seats are facing the rear, heating and cooling sucks, and nothing to drink but Pepsi. But then again if I was in a plane I actually like, I would have a hard time urinating or takin a dump, or would crap myself.

Which has been here since 1965 or so? Oh, it works. My favorite AC and I'm an AP and was out at McClellan when we did touch n' goes (in another AC type) at BXXXXX and see the U2's and SR71's which were never there when I never was there, too. WartHog is my favorite. We still had A4E's and A6's coming in as well as F111 at full throttle. Shake that tent, betchue! A10's were the best.

I don't know if the cockpit here is the same of a true A-10, but, if it is so, the instrument set is very readable and quite "easy" to understand. Good idea the Artif Horizont directly in front of the pilot, and visibility too seems to be good. In comparison F-16 cockpit is terribly complicate, full of hundreds of indicators too small to be read

The Arma series if a retarded pile of shit, the flight mechanics are oversimplified to an offensive level. If you want something that could be considered realistic in any way, you need FSX with the aerosoft A-10 addon.

Some of it is authentic for instance using the flaps etc but i agree it is oversimplified, but dont we like that? it does take some time to learn the principles of flight. I feel that arma 2 for instance catches the effects of what an airstrike would be like.

ArmA isn't an air combat simulation, it's more ground based simulation. The choppers are reasonably well simulated however, but their fixed wing obviously aren't that close to reality.

These aircraft are designed to take tremendous amounts of punishment and still be able to complete the job and return home. There's many cases where they've limped home and landed safely with a good third of a wing or both wings torn off. They're like flying tanks, which is a good thing considering they're made for low level ground support and taking out armour.

I remember during the first gulf war in '91 seeing a news story about an A-10 that had a good bit of a wing blown off and made it home. After discovering that much of the missing pieces from the wing had been sucked into an engine and spit out, the pilot said that it (the engine) just kind of sputtered, blew some smoke and fire then continued to run normally the rest of the flight. Tough !!!

Make sure your eyes are good, if not get lasik before you join and dont tell them you had it done. If youre color blind count yourself out. If you have heart conditions count yourself out. As far as I know the Virtual Battlespace System (what arma is derived from) was more about tactics training as opposed to realism training.

I've not started flight training yet ;) and I'm from the UK, so no A-10 for me and our harriers don't have GAU-12 cannons.

I'm pretty sure it's nothing like the real thing, just like running around with a gun isn't anything like playing computer games, just that the skills of flying ingame correlate more closely to real flying that the skills of playing infantry to real soldiering.
