  • could you tell me what is the song played in the first few seconds? thanks

  • This is why the British NHS wins. You need medical help - you get it as soon as possible and you keep getting help for as long as you need it with no cost. Whatever Americans have heard about it being rubbish, pretty much every person I know is really proud of our NHS and you would deffinately benefit from a similar system in America.

  • Sexual assault victims are every male who has been involuntarily circumcised. The true ratio of female to male rape victims could be 1/1,000. Definitions are crafted to screw victims. Mental illness does not exist--only moral responsibility. But people have to believe some dangerous BS since they stopped believing in heresy and witchcraft. How is it that a psych degree gives holder immunity? Gerontologists don't claim their degree stops them from aging! Mental "illness," the HOAX.

  • When a 3 year gets raped and the attacker gets 3 years. Where its a $14,000 fine if you get caught downloading a free song on the net. You know each individual is worth nothing, but united over a common cause then you can move mountains.

  • Not giving complete coverage to all trauma survivors only adds to the ignorance of this overall.

  • How come in the article there were examples of women rape survivors. But NO guys? Yes, the percentage is small. But they do exist. Both in and out of the military.

Which means that if either a guy or a woman get raped, many providers won't pay for the rape test kit. The PTSD that comes from this? Again, not covered. AIDS/HIV tests? Not covered. And finally, pregnancies from rapes? Not covered.

  • If you're not a vet, you can be denied for having PTSD (regardless of the cause).

  • I paid for Blue Cross for years.

But I got sick of having my doctor argue with ''the insurance guy" for weeks about whether i needed a test or not.

I was tired of having someone between me & my doctor.

So as a Veteran I started going to VA.

It has been like night & day - now when I need a test the doctor orders it & it's promptly done!

  • DillonX Dad is a WWII vet , he swears by the VA, I swear at my BCBS (not literally, but you get my drift )

  • @DillonX thats good to hear with how everybody treats the government as completely incompetent with such things

  • I know vets who fought in combat and because of it are diagnosed with multiple mental disorders, some have personality disorders. If lucky, these people, especially men, will have a private session one hour once a week. Most sessions are group sessions that may or may not be conducted by a medical professional since the VA will use medical college students for group sessions, just a fact about socialized medicine.

  • This is an excellent video and certainly matches the experiences I had working with some "managed care" companies while I managed the finances of a transplant program. Good reporting, good job.

  • One caveat... the first therapist stated that she would need a lot of help over an extended period of time. That's not always the case and it is for the CLIENTS to determine how much help they need in such a situation. Clients/patients can also be traumatized by well-meaning therapist who behave in paternalistic ways with adults. Just because someone was a crime victim doesn't mean they're a child and needing someone to parent them. In some cases... all that's needed is someone to validate...

  • ... their experience and assist them in locating resources such as legal assistance and providing support as their going through court cases etc. Some clients will desire more assistance than others... and some crime victims may choose to forego seeing a therapist at all if they utilize other healthy outlets for dealing with what they have been through... such as any form of creative expression. The bottom line.. adults should be making these decisions for themselves and NOT insurance companies!

  • This is an all-out war on women since women are the primary seekers of these services. This isn't just an example of trauma (rape) upon trauma (insurance)... it's also trauma upon trauma upon trauma... because had she sought a psychiatric intervention she would have been put on drugs or in the hospital in a heartbeat!!!

Supportive psychotherapy she be covered without question for ANY crime victim... and that person shouldn't have to be labeled with a psychiatric diagnosis in order to get it!!!

  • This is also a reflection of the horrendous job that the American Psychological Association has done at protecting and promoting the very professionals that it's supposed to be serving. The ApA has thrown psychologists under the bus and sold themselves out for large payouts from the DOD, law enforcement, and unethical institutions that continue to engage in such programs as MKULTRA! They most certainly do NOT represent all psychologists and they do NOT represent me!

  • Corporations are the worst places in which to entrust your mental health.
