Nice souvenirs, sha sha rock was not my favorite music venue, but hey, that was what I used to party and dance whit at 13 and very unsecure at the time when the girls were a bit more assertive than the guys when it came to the dance floor.
my brother gave me 2 records for xmas, one was this one and the other was poor me by adam faith, and i still have them and play them, more than 50 years on, i kept my record player for that reason and about 200 records more, my grandkids dance to them too.
no way 11o665bigguy if today,s artist tried they would run like a scared dog. yelping tail between ti,s leg,s wetting itself out of sheer fright running down the street. The talent is not here anymore class elgance
@sophie1065 i dont listen to today's music and have u all noticed how mutch old music is used in adverts and movies today and copied by todays singers this music will never die its pure talent and all them wrote music and songs
they cant right like this today great song from the best era of music 50's 60's bring back the oldies i wonder if anybody today can sing like they did in this era. todays music is rubish and its all about money
My three year old changed the settings on my alarm clock radio without my knowledge. In the morning the annoying sound of the buzzer was replaced by a station playing this song. I love it. I'm not a fan of oldies but this tune is so catchy it stayed with me for weeks even though I never heard it before. I finally had to search on You Tube to hear it again. Great stuff!
We used to have the record player on Tuesdays in 1961 and we played this all the time. We all thought he was dreamy. OMG that was fifty years ago in deepest Yorkshire. Elland in fact near Halifax.
In mid 50's growing up in Central Florida; we would watch a very young Johnny Tillotson sing every week on the "Toby Dowdy" TV Show out of Jacksonville. Johnny would sing duets with an equally talented young lady (I forget her name). Oh how EVERYONE enjoyed watching "Toby Dowdy" each week; primarily to watch Johnny sing with young female partner. THOSE WERE GREAT DAYS. Thanks for post.
Thank you for posting Nocaro. One of my favourite pre-Beatles songs, when most pop music came from the other side of the pond. For a long time I thought, [ so I hear like many others ], that it was called 'Oh A Tree In Motion'. [0308GMT]
Wow, now that's what I call some excellently re-vitalized bass frequencies! Think you could also upload this as 340p so we'd also get clear treble? With the smaller 240p format, Youtube compresses sound so much the treble is always distorted.
Johnny was and still is GORGEOUS~NESS in motion, even if I have to make a new word up to say it, ;) Look at that face!! Oh momma! Love him and his music!!
I heard that on a local radio when i was a kid going home from school passing by some folks doing their laundry at the "poso' and that was a bit of nostalgia thou it's not in my age bracket, but loved it anyway...
Jinkies! My favorite Tillotson tune! Thanks for posting this utterly delightful "blast from the past" for us to enjoy! And until now I didn't know music icons Boots Randolph and Floyd Cramer were session musicians on this. WOW! You've MADE my day & week! CHEERS! :-)
Johnny T is from Jacksonville, Fl (I believe) I know he was on the Toby Douty (sp) show there.
I had just moved from Jax to Virginia and a high school girl friend from Jax sent me a letter (snail mail) just after it was released -
Not crazy about the song, but it does bring back great memories.

I was born in 1990. This song is great. Shows how much better artists and bands were back then.
I still prefer recent hip hop artists, mainly because it didn't exist back then!

Tillotson did this song the best, hands down. While I love Bobby Vee, he didn't do this song justice.
