The intro sounds like an Iron Maiden song but I can't think of where I have heard it. I think it might be from the song Mother Russia. The intro in that song starting at about 30 seconds in is pretty close to this I think.

I have just finished learning this piece and even though I got to work on it still and polish it, I feel on top of the world. The problem is that on the sheet musc I have, some parts (especially the middle bit) have it played in different positions and in a diferent style; for example 2:50-2:55 in my book involves this being played double octive style involving two strings and some sliding. In some places I have adabted some technique from this clip instead of the music I have.

I have heard all of the others and I find this version to be the best I've ever heard. I listened to Segovia, He's to slow, age maybe. I listened to John Williams when he was younger and he played beautifully although still not as polished as now. I just feel that he understands what the artist was trying to convey, he gets it.
