i like the stacks on a Scania but since ive known Scania, ive known awesome side pipes on awesome V8 rigs. the side exhaust is just kind of a cool thing Scnaia does for me. sorta like a trademark, if you will. its pretty uncommon, especially for a tractor trailer. not to mention that most trucks CANT pull off side exhaust. the fact that a Scania does it the best is sayin something. i think its just natural for a Scania to run sides.
any truck looks better with stacks and u can make them much wider too like i saw a scania with 10'' pipes before and the sound omg!! plus no muffler gives you more POWER!!!

stack or side pipes ...dosent matter as long as theres no silencers that should be compulsory

I know!! the whole point of a scania V8 apart from the power is for the sound- they ought to make straight through stacks compulsory
