Although it sounds YouTube is being a jerk, they have made some pretty good decisions, although it was sold to Google that was a good decision because before if you remember like me how youtube was a trash dump visited by only 100,00s daily, but when they sold it to Google they took away the ads made new design that look waaay better and even gave videos the ability to be in HD or HQ and you can advertise your product on it and the it wont be all over the site just in a corner.
