Funny, but just so you guys know, the Bible is the most accurately translated historical book ever (or at least way up there), as in its changed the least out of all the historical books. They did some study where they found that the 1700s version (basically the King James now) only had a few differences in word choices from the like 200 A.D. version or something, i don't really remember the dates but i'm pretty sure that in over a thousand years only a few words were changed :S

That book is FICTION, however the stories therein provide morals and life lessons that we should apply in real life to better operate as functional, caring people. The preachy bits serve to strike FEAR into the hearts of its believers to make sure they DO behave as the stories advise and teach.
