@TheDoom13 The reason why Mandarin and Cantonese are fairly far apart is because of Manchurian/Mongolian influences on the Mandarin dialects (especially Beijing Mandarin). Furthermore, give two languages about 1000 years of individual development and you're going to get some deviation.

@kll1161 You'll need to provide proof that Confucianism has been influenced by the Vietnamese, as well as proof for your side that Cantonese are more "Yue' than Han. But even if it is true, that does not stop philosophies such as Confucianism and Taoism being a major part of Chinese culture. And it does not stop these incredible philosophies from influencing Vietnam in return. I was replying to your comment that you want to take down the "inhuman" Han Chinese.

If u said Cantonese were Han's descendant, then how come today Han & Cantonese couldn't communicate, understand each others?? Genetic also show that Cantonese had Yue People DNA too!!

@TheDoom13 The reason why Mandarin and Cantonese are fairly far apart is because of Manchurian/Mongolian influences on the Mandarin dialects (especially Beijing Mandarin). Furthermore, give two languages about 1000 years of individual development and you're going to get some deviation.
If you actually knew Chinese and properly analysed Mandarin and Cantonese, you'd know they're still linguistically related. However, as you pointed out, you can't.

@kll1161 Your only source of proof is to some book which has been widely considered to be controversial and pseudohistory. My proof is from the third party American Journal of Human genetics, look it up on google. There maybe very small traces of "yue" blood from a tiny bit of crossbreeding, but as the study pointed out, we are far more Han than your "Yue". So honestly, you still don't have anything.

@kll1161 And even if the book has some credibility (which it doesn't), it doesn't stop the fact that Chinese culture has had much more influence on Vietnamese culture than vice versa. You learnt from us a lot more than we learnt from you.

@taiwanese2037 Cantonese isn't stupid! Don't you dare say that. Cantonese goes back 2000 years while Mandarin about 600! Cantonese is a beautiful language and is widely spoken in Southern China and is proof that there is more than one Chinese dialect which is something to be proud of.
