  • I GOT MY Dwarf Cherry Trees ON LINE FOR $9.95 EACH

  • Nice trees! I'm surprised there's no cherries on that Dwarf Bing. I have a Dwarf Bing & a Dwarf Black Tartarian, & both are only about 1/3 the size of your Bing. I pruned both of them a lot for the 1st 2 yrs. & I had a couple flowers on them last year but no cherries. This year, they're loaded with cherries! I wonder if u had a lack of bees for cross pollination w/your sweet cherry species? Also have a Dwarf Damson Plum with plums tiny plums this year! All 3 are 3-4 yrs. old. Thank You!

  • Hello

I was just checking out your videos. And I enjoyed the information that you gave which was very informative. But I'm just curious have you got any fruit from these trees. And you said these would dwarf trees if so how wide and how tall do they actually get. Because I am thinking of doing the same thing in my yard. But I have a limited limited space

    thank you so much

  • Your garden is wonderful! 2 days ago I planted my first cherry tree (dwarf Black Tartarian) and today I saw some Japanese Beetles on it and 2 leaves completely eaten.

Some leaves seem to have turned yellow and fallen (I'm assuming due to transplant

shock). Have you ever dealt with these beetles? If so, what did youi do to get rid of them? I have 2 other trees coming this week and I hope I won't loose them.

    Thank you.

  • @LuvCrochet1 Its a little late to be planting trees, Cherry trees are very prone to stress easily, especially this year in the norheast because of heat and drought. They are best planted in May or early April...

I've dealt with aphids on my cherries this year, but never beetles. Spray them with soapy water and the leaves as well. (I try to stay away from pesticides) and see what happens... BTW I think Black Tartarians need a pollinizer to set fruit...

  • @StixxmanNJ Thanks for the reply. I was considering soapy water, since the treatment for the beetles is to knock them into a pot of soapy water. I will be putting in a Stella as a pollinizer.. This is my first attempt at planting any trees, and the websites where I purchased the trees did not indicate a preferable planting schedule. I have some plum trees on order from a different nursery and they are

shipping them in the middle of October. Wish me luck!

  • I had a handful of white gold cherries from my tree which is a semi dwarf until a family of bluejays discovered them. I'll have to put a net over it next year. The black gold didn't do much for some reason? I don't know if bing is good for the northeast because they are prone to splitting in wet weather.

  • Hi, Great Fruit garden. I also have grapes and cherry trees. I'm still trying to figure out the difference between spur and cane pruning grapes. To my surprise you have to prune the cherry trees also to promote a good crop of cherries. I thought I could just plant them and eat cherries. There are some videos on how to prune cherries on youtube.

  • @tmc200527 Thanks! This will be the first year pruning grapes for me, so I will keep you informed how it goes. There are many pruning methods, and you can combine them. The key to pruning grapes is to maintain buds on canes for next year since prapes will only grow on canes produced on one year old wood, and will vary depending on how healthy your root system is. Pruning also adjusts the amount of fruit your vine will produce. Quanity - Table grapes or Quality as in Wine grapes.

  • I bought a cherry tree (4 in 1) just last week. I planted it in a huge pot on my patio. Nice to see u have fruits in ur tree so I'm hoping to get some on mine too. Great job on your garden!

  • @offmyshit I love the 4in1 cherry trees! If your tree is a dwarf it should do well in a pot! Good luck with it!

  • do you have any rabbit problems there?

  • @acula1982 I see Rabbits now and then, but I havent noticed problems with them. The birds are still finding ways to get cherries though!

  • bings are NOT self fertilizing.

  • @riverlifeva No bings are not! They need to be cross- pollinated.

  • man I used to have the most amazing grape vines in my yard. These were goin on 100 years old and would produce so many big juicy delicious concords all by themselves. We ignored them and they would just explode. Buuut there are a ton of arborvite there now to block the view of the ghetto springing up on the next street.
