@gtasupergamerdude - I believe the park claimed the coaster was removed because it was to exceed it's service life. The area it used to sit in is rumored to be used once again for a launched coaster of somesort.

@gtasupergamerdude - Good question. I believe the park said BBW's service live was 25 years. Maybe 20? I believe it all depends on how well the ride was engineered and built.

@gtasupergamerdude - I believe it it could all depend on the way the park maintains a ride, and how forcefull it is among other things. There are only a handful of this type left. Big Bad Wolf was a very forceful ride.

@gtasupergamerdude - They haven't built a new coaster yet but did mention they plan on putting in a launched coaster in 2011. I am sure whatever it is will be zooming in and out of the same general area and could cruise down some of the same terrain that Wolf did. I could see that being wicked!

@6flgslover - I loved that big drop. The new coaster going in it's place is rumored to have a similar type of final drop as well.....just with a little extra something. =:^)

I liked the fading out effect on that last clip. Were those trim brakes I heard as it came down that drop there? If so, I hope people don't wonder why they are deciding to take this out.

Thanks. The fading effect was a last minute choice when I was getting ready to upload it to youtube.

Yes, those are trim brakes you hear. They have been there for years. I don't remember exactiy when they were installed but I have heard they have been there more than they haven't.

The trims were installed a few weeks after the ride opened in 1984.

Very cool shot at 0:37, you can see the train shuffling.

Great video, going to miss this coaster. It was the first roller coaster I ever rode.

i was there on August 11th. There was a thunderstorm moving in; my last ride was at night, front seat, with the sky lighting up like a fireworks display!

I didn't get to ride BBW at night as I spent the last hour the park was open on Griffon. The line was almost nothing thanks to some rain that cleared out the crowds. I do remember riding BBW at night a few years back and enjoyed it very much.

I can't believe you were there just two days before I was. If you remember, I ran into you by chance at another Busch park maybe 6 years ago or so.
