  • Love it :)

  • So it finally happened. Using your awesome transcription, I recorded the first third of the Berceuse from the game. I've posted it as a response, and I'm hoping you'll accept in order that everyone can see what your work has inspired me to do.

  • @Zer0MT Wonderful! I am so surprised that one of my older videos is still popular. I have just listened to it and found the reverb to be a little overpowering, but the overall use of rubato and shaping were well done. How long have you been playing the piano for? And happy new year by the way.

  • @zeryx28 Happy New Year! I'm still into a lot of "dated" videogame music. There's been so much amazing work done over the years, it's a shame when a lovely piece like this gets forgotten. But thanks to you, not so.

Fair point on the reverb. My digital piano is very "dry" sounding, so I guess it's easy for me to get carried away with post-recording reverb. I'll bare that in mind. Thanks for the compliments - means a lot.

Very impressed with how you transcribed this by ear. I couldn't!

  • @zeryx28 ...and I've been playing for around 7 years total, perhaps. Had a massive break that I regret, and the last 2 years have been the most serious and focused. That being said, I'm nowhere near as proficient as I should be for that amount of time...not to mention lacking your level of comprehension.

Do you have anything in the works right now?

  • @Zer0MT Oh wow that's not bad. Have you been studying with a teacher too? Comprehension? I'm guessing you are referring to musical theory and the technical aspects of music composition. It takes time to absorb I guess. But it's both an advantage and a disadvantage. While it helps me view music in a more objective light, it also limits my musical taste because I automatically go and (subconsciously) analyze everything I hear.

  • @Zer0MT I normally write something over the holidays, but these past weeks, I have been occupied with work and moving out and settling in. I plan to write another orchestral work for SFUCO and school starts very soon, so I hope there will be time for that!

  • @zeryx28 The first 5 years I studied privately with a tutor. For the last 2 it's just me and resources on the internet. And I know exactly what you mean. Having studied the basics of music theory, I know how it can make you over-critical at times in regards to music, so it is indeed a blessing and a curse occasionally. But I think it's more an advantage than not, as I'm sure you'd agree.

Hopefully the move hasn't slowed you down too much. It can be frustrating when life gets in the way of music.

  • That was awesome! It sounds like something Bach would write.

  • I'm an amateur pianist and musician and I've been a massive fan of the Resident Evil series as a whole and the music also, for ages. Been on the hunt for a transcription of this for god knows how long. And now I have it, thanks to you and your hard work, talent and dedication to music.

So, many thanks, over & again. I'll be sure to credit you & your website for when I make a recording and post it on my channel.

    All the best,

    Martin.

  • excuse me, I'm looking for the Lachrymal piano version and possibly some sheet scores for it aswell, if anyone can help me, that will be great! :D

  • Awesome!

  • I think the second part is better than the original! :o

  • Thank you for posting the sheet music in this vid. . . and an mp3 to go along with it.

I can't tell you how long I've searched for this.

    THANK YOU!

  • i love you :3 thats all i can say your that awesome

  • can i have tabs please :(

  • @skiokonne Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

  • @zeryx28 i need tabs for playinig this song whith guitar...really i need them...

  • @skiokonne Haha. Well, I am happy to hear that someone wants to play my work on guitar so badly. (I am assuming you refer to both the original theme and also the canon I have composed based on it as there are two separate sections in this work.) But unfortunately, I do not play the guitar, so you may have to find someone else to transcribe it. Good luck. :)

  • i like this music, from when i played code veronica thi first time in 2001! but please...can you help me to find the tabs for guitar... :( i hope

  • yaaay, you + resident evil = <3, love this! The counterpoint indeed is amazing.

(PS When I listen to this piece, I somehow have to think about Castlevania. Or about the castle of the vampire from Suikoden.)

  • Vincent, i am yet again astonished by your skill. what beautiful counterpoint! :D

  • AHHh i miss this game LOL brings back so much memories!

  • @xianning Haha yeah, it's a great game. I just finished it a few months ago.
