What to look for in the days after dirting a tank

Hi there! I have an aquarium with the measurement of 30" long 18" deep 24" tall, I want to go with the dirt method really like you tank set-up Actually I don't have any organic soil substrate available in the area where I live so if I use some River bank soil with some gardening soil mix with Red potting clay does it work for me? Actually in past I made a mistake with my planted tank which had Vallisineria, Cobomba and other plants i didn't have any fertilizer so I used Cement in it. plz reply.

I'm going to set up a 45 gallon within the week and have decided to dirt it. I've never used dirt in a tank before but have wanted to try. Thanks for this video--I think I'll be coming back to it a few times over the next couple weeks to stay calm!

after i start a dirt tank i do 70% water changes first two days then 50% the next four days then 10% weekly this is just what i do but it works for me and thought i would put some specifics out there

what about lighting? and i get small snails in my dirt tank. how do i get rid of them

Great vid shane! sorry to see you got a dislike there I recently got a dislike on one of my vids and it just got me down you know cos I try quite hard to put lots of info in there and some people just dislike regardless of how much effort you put in but that's just the way the cookie crumbles lol ...good info by the way If only this vid was around when I started my tank :)

Great video shane,want to add tho,when you first setup your dirt tank one of the first plants that can/should be added first is floating plants,such as Dwarf Duckweed.Helps getting the cycle moving a little faster,and to help with excess nutrients...Very nice shane!
