Control difficulty argument regarding keyboard and mouse is subjective, what is true though is that a mouse and keyboard IS a superior controlling mechanism compared to a hand-held controller in most genres, such as an FPS (There was once experimental cross-platform play that pretty much proved this), console gamers aren't immune to being shafted either. Look at the PS3 release of Elder Scrolls IV.
@qazxsw13 I have played PC games before. the keyboard and mouse requires you to adapt but I didn't say it was bad and I've compared the specs of some PCs to play you usual games and the ones that can cost alot of money and the ones I listed were trying to explain the answers to the main subjects that come up in a PC vs console argument

Other than that I've only had the PS3 for about a month and a half and already it became a major annoyance with it freezing up while playing little big planet 2 and Battlefield 3 which I bought to play with a few friends. Battlefield 3 by far being the worse with a weird green flickering screen, screen tearing, fps drops below 30 fps when it gets busy and constantly crashing the system. Added to that, extremely slow install times up to 2 hours for GT5, and EXTREMELY SLOW LOAD TIMES.
Only thing that I've found better on my PS3 than on my PC is that while streaming netflix or hulu videos it already came with a wireless controller so I don't have to get off the bed and onto the keyboard to browse, pause etc.. videos while dual screening onto the TV. Although this would easily be fixed with a wireless mouse and keyboard but the PS3 was a gift so that was free :).
@Lunatic0001 well, that's easily fixed... You can use Xbox360 or PS3 controller on PC, even wirelessly. :) There's programs like xpadder that let you use it on the desktop, too.
@RalphCQ I know, I use xpadder for the few games that don't have the preconfigured defualt xbox360 controllers as I have 2 xbox360 wired controllers to play co op games on my pc with friends. What I was saying is that the PS3 already came out of the box with wireless controllers, where as I'd have to go looking for a receiver if I'd want to use a wireless PS3/Xbox360 controller on my pc. The receiver is cheaper, but again the PS3 was a gift and was free for me :p.
And to my last foment cost me 50 dollars to repair xbox disk drive because movie company put it under encyclopedias before they drove it across half the country
Pc is better for some stuff and console for others, I am console player and in tempted to get pc to play RPGs on it (quick save), console does last longer, I had my xbox since month after it was released, and all I had to do was pay extra money for extra cables for my headset and 250 gb hardrive, (didn't have to pay anything extra for my ps3), I am tempted to get gaming pc when I get money saved up
@Thet3 no, the death of hardcore gaming is the fact that "hardcore" gamers aren't buying hardcore games anymore. Hardcore gaming has become even more of a niche than it once was, which is leading to an ever slow and painful death. Both consoles and PCs are to blame for this (after all, consoles don't have "hardcore" FarmVille, WoW, LoL, Words with Friends, Minecraft [yet], etc.).

Good video PC gamer here. But claiming that you can pop in a game on console and have it run perfectly HA. I have been enjoying skyrim on my pc since the release date but my friend on the other hand can't play it period on his ps3. Crashing, stuttering, texture loading problems and when it does play i've seen it in person the sky looks like it was painted in by Monet and the draw distances are terrible. @MrG4M3RT4G The sad thing is, consoles DO have to update. One time my friend's PS3 took TWO HOURS to update itself. It doesn't even let you play a game or anything while it updates. PC, you can do anything you want while it updates. Even play a game. :)

Consoles are and are going to continue to make more money then the pc. So even though having the focus back on pc would be nice consoles are to big a market so just get over it.
You don't have to upgrade your PC hardware. You can leave it the same and still be less outdated than the consoles. My old garbage PC system (garbage in my opinion) still achieved better graphics than consoles. My FORMER 360 gaming friend even said so. Don't get a 360 controller if you want wireless. The Logitech F710 works better than XBox controllers as it can function in x-input mode or direct input mode. Plug in the nano receiver and you're good to go.
Sure the controller is simpler but maybe a bit too simple, some times if games with alot of different actions to perform, it will lead so some major complications like over-realiance on one perticular button.
why would u even care if the controller is wired? its on a computer..your most likely gonna be right on top of it unless ur using a tv instead of a monitor..

reasons i like pc more - Not just multi media (i do a lot of digital art on pc) -great community -mods -steam -cheaper games -better graphics yes but don't care to much -mouse and keyboard -majority of pc gamers have GOOD mics that are understandable -customization -ports (yes i can have pokemon fire on my computer) -gaming laptops are actually more portable than consoles, and more powerful these are my opinions, i still enjoy consoles, and split screen capability is great in a lot of cases.

@nash3timemvp Crysis was never a really good game to start with. Its main selling point was that no PC in 07 could actually run the game without crashes and/or FPS drop, and that it looked gorgeous. RAGE was just a mediocre game, from gameplay to core design, that didnt have an ending, and no amount of RAM can fix mediocre gameplay or core design. Same applies with Crysis. Dragon Age 2 was a mediocre game from top-to-bottom, the storyline was garbage, and it was a rushed product.
@Kiramulerider there's been loads of anti cheat programs for years. plus most good servers will have people that are able to kick if anyone is cheating. in all my years of online gaming cheaters have never been an issue only once have i met some one that is cheating and it was funny since they was from myg0t. so have no idea where you got that from that a pc gets hacked to shit.
Dumbing Crysis down for the console was the death of that game,and as for Rage the developers said themselves the game was slimmed down to suit the limitations of the xox 360.Another series that got screwed for catering towards to console fags was Dragon Age.Dragon Age 2 was a complete joke had console hack and slash all over it.
Ease of Use is no debate if your lazy go right ahead, but don't include everyone into your lame cut out fantasy that consoles are "Perfect" on release of some games.
I have seen numerous games come out on Xbox 360, and Ps3 that had game breaking bugs, Froze, Stuttered, Framerate Drop at the worst times, and had the most horrific control scheme I have ever seen in my life.
PC is as your said more mature and understanding, Games Run Fine On Release... Rarely have problems that can't be fixed

Take away the fact that PC players get major title releases watered down, delayed patches and updates and has to do without a great many game titles, despite being those who decided they cared enough about gaming to pay a little extra for a superior system, then I guess we have a pretty fair debate.

i use Steam and i never have any trouble with downloading shit and play it on my machine. Don't try to play PC games unless you are mature and know how to use the PC first.

Okay it's odd that they go on to talk about how sequels coming out these days are multi-platform, yet they fail to mention that the PC versions are going to be watered down considerably due to it being developed for consoles that have been showing their age for a while. Don't get me wrong I own all consoles out this generation yet still find the best gaming experience is and always has been the PC.

@wwerulzs64 " console ... better controls" FYI, you can use the PS3 or Xbox360 controller on the PC, via USB. Microsoft even makes a special wireless 360 controller for the PC.
Keyboard/mouse is better in LOTS of games, especially FPS's and RTS's. For a lot of games, the controller is better. For example, fighting/driving/flying/sim types of games, and some 3rd person games too. LOTS of PC games (basically all released since 2007) also have full support for gamepads.
About the keyboard and mouse argument, who cares if its only WASD, whats more important, being able to aim well, or being able to walk 360 degrees? Plus you turn around with a mouse not the keyboard especially in FPS games. I could only use W and a mouse to play because again you turn with mouse not keyboard.
@Stridus7 You're half correct. Current consoles actually borrowed HEAVILY from PC's. In it, you've got: motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM, hard drive, and optical drive. That's basically a PC setup. If the engineers at Microsoft and Sony are smart, their next consoles will be even more like PC's. Also with APU's (like AMD Fusion), small-form PC's are becoming very powerful. Unfortunately, both next-gen consoles are still WAY off. :( Have yet to be revealed, or even announced.
@FrostyTheBlackSnowman you do know that "Internet" lag is entirely dependent on the strength of your Internet connection/modem to either the host or the servers, and what platform you play on is irrelevant to whether your Internet lags or not. Input lag is caused when a developer fails to properly synchronize the controls together, and as such should be blamed on the devs. So, PCs are no more laggy than consoles.
@diehippie9000 I agree with your opinion, before all of my involvement in gaming wars my friends told me to buy a PS3, I listened to them.
I have compared my Pc and the PS3. When I played Modern warfare 3 on both machines, the Ps3 controllers were one of the worse(for fps) which took me to complete the campaign 5 hours longer and the graphics were so horrific. Now I use it just for exclusives.
Also the friends that made me buy it are not anymore my friends.

Other than that I've only had the PS3 for about a month and a half and already it became a major annoyance with it freezing up while playing little big planet 2 and Battlefield 3 which I bought to play with a few friends. Battlefield 3 by far being the worse with a weird green flickering screen, screen tearing, fps drops below 30 fps when it gets busy and constantly crashing the system. Added to that, extremely slow install times up to 2 hours for GT5, and EXTREMELY SLOW LOAD TIMES.

Only thing that I've found better on my PS3 than on my PC is that while streaming netflix or hulu videos it already came with a wireless controller so I don't have to get off the bed and onto the keyboard to browse, pause etc.. videos while dual screening onto the TV. Although this would easily be fixed with a wireless mouse and keyboard but the PS3 was a gift so that was free :).

@RalphCQ I know, I use xpadder for the few games that don't have the preconfigured defualt xbox360 controllers as I have 2 xbox360 wired controllers to play co op games on my pc with friends. What I was saying is that the PS3 already came out of the box with wireless controllers, where as I'd have to go looking for a receiver if I'd want to use a wireless PS3/Xbox360 controller on my pc. The receiver is cheaper, but again the PS3 was a gift and was free for me :p.

Good video PC gamer here. But claiming that you can pop in a game on console and have it run perfectly HA. I have been enjoying skyrim on my pc since the release date but my friend on the other hand can't play it period on his ps3. Crashing, stuttering, texture loading problems and when it does play i've seen it in person the sky looks like it was painted in by Monet and the draw distances are terrible. For example, on console, BF3:
30 FPS and it always drops.
Ok graphics, that always get muddy.

Amazing consistent graphics
64 player online with big maps, more vehicles, and less lag.
Plug in an xbox controller onto a PC and get a nice headset, and you're set.

You don't have to upgrade your PC hardware. You can leave it the same and still be less outdated than the consoles. My old garbage PC system (garbage in my opinion) still achieved better graphics than consoles. My FORMER 360 gaming friend even said so. Don't get a 360 controller if you want wireless. The Logitech F710 works better than XBox controllers as it can function in x-input mode or direct input mode. Plug in the nano receiver and you're good to go.

@nash3timemvp Crysis was never a really good game to start with. Its main selling point was that no PC in 07 could actually run the game without crashes and/or FPS drop, and that it looked gorgeous. RAGE was just a mediocre game, from gameplay to core design, that didnt have an ending, and no amount of RAM can fix mediocre gameplay or core design. Same applies with Crysis. Dragon Age 2 was a mediocre game from top-to-bottom, the storyline was garbage, and it was a rushed product.

I have seen numerous games come out on Xbox 360, and Ps3 that had game breaking bugs, Froze, Stuttered, Framerate Drop at the worst times, and had the most horrific control scheme I have ever seen in my life.

@randomman414 id recomend getting a gaming desktop but if you really need a laptop then you can definately get a decent gaming laptop on your budget for sure. and dont waste your money on an xbox a new computer is more important

@wwerulzs64 " console ... better controls" FYI, you can use the PS3 or Xbox360 controller on the PC, via USB. Microsoft even makes a special wireless 360 controller for the PC.
Keyboard/mouse is better in LOTS of games, especially FPS's and RTS's. For a lot of games, the controller is better. For example, fighting/driving/flying/sim types of games, and some 3rd person games too. LOTS of PC games (basically all released since 2007) also have full support for gamepads.

About the keyboard and mouse argument, who cares if its only WASD, whats more important, being able to aim well, or being able to walk 360 degrees? Plus you turn around with a mouse not the keyboard especially in FPS games. I could only use W and a mouse to play because again you turn with mouse not keyboard.

@Stridus7 You're half correct. Current consoles actually borrowed HEAVILY from PC's. In it, you've got: motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM, hard drive, and optical drive. That's basically a PC setup. If the engineers at Microsoft and Sony are smart, their next consoles will be even more like PC's. Also with APU's (like AMD Fusion), small-form PC's are becoming very powerful. Unfortunately, both next-gen consoles are still WAY off. :( Have yet to be revealed, or even announced.

@FrostyTheBlackSnowman you do know that "Internet" lag is entirely dependent on the strength of your Internet connection/modem to either the host or the servers, and what platform you play on is irrelevant to whether your Internet lags or not. Input lag is caused when a developer fails to properly synchronize the controls together, and as such should be blamed on the devs. So, PCs are no more laggy than consoles.

once the pc users willbe able to play online with the 360, it wont even matter anymore. PC is and always will be the greatest console.

@diehippie9000 I agree with your opinion, before all of my involvement in gaming wars my friends told me to buy a PS3, I listened to them.
I have compared my Pc and the PS3. When I played Modern warfare 3 on both machines, the Ps3 controllers were one of the worse(for fps) which took me to complete the campaign 5 hours longer and the graphics were so horrific. Now I use it just for exclusives.
Also the friends that made me buy it are not anymore my friends.

Games go multi-platform because companies make more money that way, it has nothing to do with consoles vs PC debate.
