Mannn I was only four and still living in Lima, Peru when this happened. I dont remember any of this :( My dad had already came to Charlotte, NC , working at his restaurant when he found out. I came only two months after 9/11 with my mom...
I was only 11 years old and in 5th grade when this happened. After lunch break, our teacher told us what happened and that we were being sent home early. After I got back home and watched the news, my whole body went numb as I saw the scenes of the towers collapsing. I then started worrying about my Uncle who was a New York Police Officer and was called in after the South Tower was hit. Thankfully he survived. Even today, a decade later, it still feels like a recent memory.
I was sitting in my flat in Western Sydney, Australia and was watching the West Wing. Jim Waley came on saying and air crash happened in New York. I stopped watching after the first tower collapsed. I am a teacher and opened the doors of the school the next morning. No surprises as to what the kids were talking about. The one thing I remember that morning was the date on my colleague's casio digital watch. 911, the US emergency number. We weren't calling it nine eleven yet.
I was just 8 at the time of this, it was about quarter past three (gmt) and we walked through the door and found my friends mum glued to the TV. Seeing what was happening we watched as well. By this time the South Tower was gone and the North Tower continued to burn. It was when I saw the antenna mast plunge down and the tower explode into dust that my heart truly sank with it. I visited the in 1995, and it was horrible to think that some of the people me and my parents bumped into may be dead.
I was nearly 11. I woke up for school. I went into my mums room...its was dark in there. I sat down and looked up at her tv and just watched in terror. It was he first time in my life, that I realised that the world was so much bigger then I could comprehend. That evil really did exist. R.I.P to all those lost...you will never, ever be forgotten.
I was a JR in high school when this happened...in Marine Biology. We watched it with the seniors...until my History teacher learned that one of the planes was one her daughter was supposed to be on. Thankfully her daughter missed her flight...but this day...these images remain burned in my mind for sure despite moving on with life.
I don't remember the day. I was three years old and apparently I was pissed that this was on all the channels and I couldn't watch Tellitubbies. Too young to give a damn I guess.
Ironically, I was in A&E that day, having xrays and I remember this mother telling her young child (I think he was about 4 years old) that he was going to watch the buildings fall down again... I was just thinking "you stupid woman, he's 4, leave him.out of this. I was 14.
Americans (and people who were in America) in the aftermath remind me completely of the British in 1940 (and subsequent years) who were bombed several times by the Luftwaffe. They cleaned up the mess and carried on with life.
1st, the building is not solid; it is 95 percent air and thus can implode on itself. 2nd, there is no lateral load, even the impact of a plane, sufficient to move the center of gravity one hundred feet to the side such that it is not within the base footprint of the structure. 3rd, given the near free-fall collapse, there was no time for portions to attain significant lateral velocity. A 500,000 t structure has too much inertia to fall in any direction other than nearly straight down
You don't happen to have any channel 7 or other australian network coverage of this do you? What time did it air and more details. That would be great.
I was only 6 when this happen but I can't recall anything from this day. R.I.P all the civilians, Police and Fire crews who passed during this day

I'll never forget this. I was nine, just waking up when my Mum came running into the room. The world seemed to stop for one day.
