What a horrible piece of propaganda. American screwed those TWA employees with lies and promises that they never intended to keep. Even American's own employee's were surprised and shocked at how quickly American permanently furloughed the majority of employee's of the former TWA right after the merger was totally completed. A fine example of the "American Way".
@zetina2010 The TWA merger was very poorly timed. The transaction was completed shortly before 9/11, which is when U.S. Airlines started having serious problems with profitability.
@zetina2010 Also, because of the TWA transaction, American was put in even worse shape because of the debt acquired in addition to the 9/11 travel downturn. The TWA transaction also prevented American from seeking bankruptcy as an option.
And to think that all the MD-80's from both comanys will be retired soon. How sad it is to see a former mainline jet begining to start to slip into the history books...

American has always saved a huge amount of money on their livery......well overdue for an update...

@Ansett76 Everyone knows and loves the 'silverbird'. The American Airlines livery is iconic and is known worldwide. That is why it will never change.

@JohnRhysMusician just cause it's the "Silver Bird" don't mean it's iconoc.....just sayin. it may be to you but it's not exactly Pan Am status is it?
Ansett76 2 months ago
@Ansett76 AA doesn't have PanAm status, but American Airlines is the most recognized US air carrier abroad. The livery will never be changed.

Wasn't this when American started to loose money? After the AA/TWA Merger?

Before deregulation, when service was what airlines competed with, TWA was ALWAYS a much more glamorus airline. AA just always felt more "military."

I think this viideo is a joke since AA came in STL and most of the TWA people lost their jobs.

There's something rather odd, the number one asked question (what is the song?) has not been answered. Can anyone answer it? I want to know too

Best quality of the film. Thanks. TWA will live on in those who worked for it over the years.
