automatic gearbox? who says it has an automatic gearbox? you are the first person in the world that could type but couldnt read. it has a manual twin clutch gearbox electronically controlled to provide both full manual operation, semi automatic operation and fully automatic operation.....duh?
We should flag this video as inappropriate ! the bike leaves a lot to be desired and the video doesn't help any. I will check out the bike myself and form my own conclusions. For starters the bike color is drab just like the commentator and it went downhill from there. We get the idea. It was a rainy day!
I'm with you there...I mean, no friggin' video of it riding?? Or did I miss a 5-second clip somewhere as I was attempting to fast-forward through the boring stuff...
The definition of boredom of a motorbike. If the comments are more interesting than the motorbike....I rest my case...I'll buy a motomorini scrambler and I dont give a damn.
not only did i lose my will to live half way through, i lost any urges i ever had to go near a honda showroom for the forseeable future.
From that review its almost as though some lunatic mechanic fromn honda broke into my garage, took apart my 1988 ZX10 and my 1998 VFR, threw away the good bits off both, and made a new bike out of the crap that was left over.
Surely it can't be as bad as the review makes out?
Its one of those bikes that you wil see on mcn's iconic bike pics , it crazy design means it apeals to crazy people and tbh its a crazy price for what you get but i would buy one in a few years when they are weathered in the faults become known and the prices are cheaper , but on the whole a nice styled bike with a nice flagship engine
I would like to have seen some footage of the bike under acceleration and heard the engine go through it's rev range. Also I couldn't quite tell if it was shaft drive as the camera was moving back and forth too fast. I don't believe 120 miles on a tank is acceptable from a sports tourer and should be substantially more.
If they on put all the running gear on a 2006 VFR that would change my mind in buying one but not this one and the can looks shit house compared to the twins under seat.
Yawn... not the bike, yawn at the review. 'm interested in this bike but I'm so bored, the clip isn't even halfway through and I'm posting a comment instead of watching...
What a wasted opportunity, Spent to much time talking about how mucky the bike was and how bad the weather was. Hello!! not up to the usual high MCN standard. Did not pass on any excitement from the bike or maybe the bike is as boring as the review.
I agree with you. I keep on saying that MCN is one of the best channels on the Tube, and I think that's a fair comment. But, in this day and age - with all the competition out there - these sorts of reviews just don't pass muster. "Must try harder" MCN.
when this bike was on the drawing board at honda i think there would have been more new oddities on the VFR and as its gone on, they softened it up and took off the most interesting parts, and have ended up with a compromise, if they knew this was going to be the halo bike, they should have thrown caution(shareholders) to the wind and gone for it, and created a bike that was so radically different yamaha couldnt sit down for a month, then it would have been a great bike, compromise killed it
Good point, but everything (from kitchen utensils, cars, to bikes) must compromise in order to optimize the manufacturing process. Designers draw up a concept, then engineers come along and make mods to it so that it becomes feasible to build it. If they can get away with charging an arm and a leg (like a Ferrari), then little changes are made. But for non-exotic brands, they usually make big changes to make manufacturing cheap, so they can sell it for cheap.
To all those idiots who like cockney accents, this guy is classy and can speak the Queen's English. Refreshing to hear an MCN reporter who has good vocabulary and a clean classy accent. So much better than the northern twat or the wideboy Neaves. His comments were erudite and concise, a pleasure to watch. He was being hushed and discrete in front of Honda people on a Honda day. Yes it's obvious he didn't like it, but so what it's a respectable interesting bike.
chocolate cams i woudnt have one if u payed me n dont over rev them they start knocking like a tractor onest go get a yamaha there a lot better build quality xxxxx
In Germany, dual clutch is an OPTION you have to pay 1,2k€... Fucked up.
I think of getting this one, cause its 1000rr + abs + comfort ride.

Ugly bike, the only thing that could make that worse is an automatic transmission. Oh wait it has that.

Man can that bloke drone on.
Very dissapointed with Honda, I have owned the VFR750 through to the 800VTEC and I will not be buying this VFR.
Looks are crap, from the sounds of it the tank range is low, heavy machine, this one does not excite. Come on Honda I expected more.

I was getting 123miles on a tank on a 2008 GSXR 750!!!

Even squeezed in a 4:3, while it so obviously is a 16:9 picture. (Rounds are oval and such) It still looks fat and bulky!!
And idd he really really hates it too. (But he treads carefully like Honda could be a sponsor??..)
