How to speed hack a servo

So, say i wanted to use a servo to move a weapon (like a flipper) speed hacking could make it more effective?

Probably not unless you're flipping something very light. Speed hacking makes you lose a lot of torque (to gain speed) so the servo can't lift very much.

Will this burn out the servos?

too bad it consumes much more power now... did you check the current draw before and after?. Especially on speed-up it can draw up to 1 amp

I did not measure current but I would guess it draws multiple amps starting and under load. Unfortunately that's one of the prices you pay when gearing a motor up like this..

My servo is slow i checked it out it has busHing in it if i put bearings would it help?.

kinda takes the whole point away from servos, although if the torque stays the same it's a powerful motor to play with :)

The servo would be pretty useless for regular servo jobs (airplanes and whatnot). But this is fun if you want a robot that isn't painfully slow.

so i see you've got some of those new banebots wheels, what do you think of them?

They seem good for small bots so far.. grippy, fairly light, and decent mounting options. I plan on trying them out in several bots so we will see how they do in combat.
