  • dangerous dog

  • My GSD loved baths too. He loved water in general: bathtubs, hoses, sprinklers, the pool, etc.

  • BORING

  • believe me when I say this I love your dog.

  • i am looking on petfinder for a gsd right now, cant wait to get a dog!

  • beutiful shepy!

  • They like the HairDryer...

  • hehe i want her job...

  • $10 here.

  • When i water my plum tree in my back yard, Cyrus my GSD stands underneath the tree, waiting for the myst from the water to fall on him like a shower.

  • The doggy beauty parlor has never been graced with such STUNNING boys, and they certainly know how to soak it up. The girls better watch out for Streth and his old man.

  • My German Shepherd LOVES the water. You could go out with a Water hose and just shoot it all atround and he'd chase it.

  • Can you use Johnson&Johnson baby shampoo/soap for your GSD? Also, is it true that GSDs love taking baths (GSD = German Shep. Dog)? Finally, how often should you give your dog a bath - once a week? I personally don't think that it will dry their skin much.

  • Yes, you can use baby shampoo. It is safe for skin and eyes. I think it depends on each dog. SOme loved to bathe, others don't. And once a week may be too much. I suggest doing only when they are dirty or before a show.

  • NO, you should NOT use human shampoo, including baby shampoo, on a dog -- it is far too drying.

  • For once in awhile? Yes you can, and i'm pretty sure baby shampoo, like most dog shampoo's, dry out. Unless they are specifically formulated not to. My grandma has schnauzers and uses baby shampoo. They are perfectly fine and she bathes them TOO much. Depends on the dog.

  • Meant to basically say baby shampoo might dry out, but so do most dog shampoo's. In my experience and opinion.

  • Sure, baby shampoo won't kill them but it's definitely not recommended, regardless of how frequently one uses it. It's gentle -- for your eyes, but it's designed for human skin's pH, which is lower than a dog's and thus more acidic than shampoos designed specifically for dogs.

  • Is dandruff shampoo bad? Also, can I use dog shampoo on myself if I have really dry skin?

  • i know this sounds wrong but trust me i know give him/her a bath once every six months, excessive baths can dry out their skin :)

  • mine needs her first hair cut...is there a special way?, can i use human clippers on them?

  • No, why does it need a cut? take it to a groomers. If you cut it wrong it won't grow back normally.

  • just get some doggie clippers, and use them but make sure you use the safety comb attachment that comes with them.

so you don't cut the skin.

  • GORGEOUS shepherds the one the girl was washing looks kinda like my Jack :-)

  • Beautiful DOGS haha

  • Ah, now come on...the dogs are beautiful, but the girl is cute, too!!!

  • beautiful doggie! i have a tan and black GS who is AKC registered and am thinking of breeding her. She is 3 years old. Can you please send me a message and tell me the diffrence in the black shephards and mine? you dont mix them right> are they diffrent breeds?

  • No, the black GSDs are the same breed as your black and tan. Take a look at my other videos and you will see one of mine that is solid black. She is the grandmother of the dog in this video.

My GSDs happen to have very strong West German bloodlines in their pedigrees. All have their hips x-rayed and certified, plus they must have at least one formal obedience title, before I will breed them.

Good luck with yours...I'm happy to answer any questions.

  • Hi, first off that puppy is just adorable...and I just wanted to know if you had ever trained other kind of dogs to do competion work, like rottweilers, dobermans, boxers or malinois? or other lines of GSD?

  • Thank you...Stretch is a good boy. That is Johann (my super dog) in the background...he's Stretch's daddy.

I only own and compete with German Shepherds...but, I train all breeds. The working breeds and herding breeds are my favorites, though.

  • @SteinbaumGSD that dogs in background is looking jelous... :D

  • PLEASE don't breed your dog if you don't even know about the German shepherd breed! Just because you have one doesn't mean you should breed! Get her spayed! There are so many of them in shelters now we don't need more.

  • How did you do at the fair, mines next week and I am excited. I've got to defend my grand champion status in both obedience and showmanship! How do you train a proper front recall, and a dog to be focused and motivated? thanks

  • I am SO glad you posted this.I just a got a German Shepherd puppy about a month and a half ago.He was 3 months on Monday.I'm going to show him,so now I know a little more about grooming him!His first show is October 13 in Memphis Tennessee.Maybe we'll compete againts eachother sometime?

  • If you compete in conformation, we won't.

I only do competition events: Obedience, Rally O, Agility, Tracking, Herding, Schutzhund.

Your new GSD will be SO happy if you do any of those with him.

We do enter the big 4 day obedience trial in Nashville every January (usually 8-10 people with 10-12 GSDs from my training club are there).

Give that puppy a big hug!

  • I am so glad that you've posted this video! It is very useful for me to see types of accesories for bathing and grooming tables. Gooood! :)

  • Nice place and nice dogs! Who was the man behind the camera? Nice voice!

  • They say GSD's are a great judge of character :) Ron perhaps Stretch is trying to tell you something about a person that is so Golden ;) I would do a background check if I were you. You just never know about some people.

  • If you had a real dog you would know that they stand when being getting a bath and just love water. :)

  • Oh, here we go with that "real dog" baloney again...But, I guess that it's partially valid, since these are German Shepherds and all the rest are just dogs!!!

  • Very funny...and perhaps good advice. That's all I have to say about that.

  • She did a great job, and Stretch is just maturing so nice what a good boy! Great job! Loved the title page at the end! No doubt about it, it's a wet job.

  • Yes, Stretch really is maturing...physically and mentally. And, Portia is just a real natural...I see great things ahead for her with dogs.

  • This is an unfair video. All he did when I washed him was whine and cry like he was being killed.

  • I remember...the look on his face was as if I had just sent him to Death Row.
