Cambodia has 3 genocides.
The first one was in 1432 causing by the Siam that wiped out the entire Khmer identity.
The second one was in 1814 causing by the Viet in Vihn Te canal that burned the Khmer heads alive to make the Viet Tea that wiped out the entire Khmer identity.
The third on was in 1975 causing by the KR, but Khmer identity still existed.
The KR valued Angkor as seen Angkor on the KR flag.
The Siam first and the Viet second genocides wiped out the entire Khmer identity.

The Vietnamese didn't take Vietnam from the khmer empire. We've always been there in the north and later conquered the Champa in the midle and the south. The Khmer only gave away a piece of land which is the Southest part of Vietnam today as a tribute to our king for helping them against the Siam. Vietnamese never invaded Cambodia.

Actually it was your king that allow our general to settle in the area of Saigon. After that came more and more Vietnamese immigrant that slowly taken over and influenced the place with our language and culture. The Khmer assimiliated natually themselves. After that came the French and remade the map for their own aministration but that's another story. Still no military invasion from our side.

I think Nokor is Khmer/pali/sankirt for City, alot of vietnamese towns,citys and provences in south vietnam still have khmer names just in vietnamese versions like Preah venh in vietnam is now Tri Vinh and Panduranga is now Phan Rang ect ect

Have you any idea what you're talking about? Ideologically he was right? Do you even know the manifesto of the KR? The Khmer people call him 'Contemptible Pot' for a reason. He and the other top guys, Samphan, Chea, etc. knew what was going on. They emptied the cities until the only ones left were them and the 1000's they tortured. Also VietNam (remember them) put Hun Sen in power where he has remained because he is a dictaor. I dont like the U.S. global behaviour but dont blame them for this!!

I still lived with the emptiness for years and still feeling that way. The only way that I can find peace is in war. If there is no war I'll find one. I lived through all those killings and it was all nice and practical and death was just a job that have to be done. They took away my mother in the harvest season in 1976(march-april). We hide our brothers and sisters from the killing. I was alive because the Khmer Rourge were too busy killing fellow Khmer Rouge and forgotten about us.

My family went through this time period. Though I was born later on in the years, it hurts me so badly knowing just how evil and cruel these people were to their own people. Though I will never feel the pain my parents and grandparents went through just knowing and hearing the things that were done made me sick.

I read that most of the people who carried out the torture and executions were in their teens and 20's. That means they'd be in their 40's and 50's now. Are these animals not being brought to justice like the leaders of the Khmer Rouge? I wish nothing more but for the people who actually carried out the murder and torture to face the families of the those they killed.
