I'm 12 and I wanted to watch them do this on my toes it was cool I was born in a doctor family/scientist so I wanted to see it done on my toes and it didn't bother me.
I know whats worse.... 2 ingrown toenails a bad doctor an 5 ingrown FINGERNAILS thats my case but they dont always get infected just sometimes there fine but for no reason the get infected no matter how much I wash my hands...and i wont be going to the doctor to have surgery, I lack the guts espesially after this...
@Mrbasketballer76 well maybe for u. I had one removed after 8 months. Then the other side of my toe got infected. Got that removed. 6 months later they are both acting up again. Lucky u.
i just had mine removed literally about 30 min ago...i was scared shitless from everyone saying that the needles would hurt like hell. my doctor used a 3 cc needle i think...but it didnt even hurt.. their was a little burning but its like putting ur hand over a lighter that is lit for about 1 second.. then its done and nothing hurts. If your going to get this procedure, do it, its very worth it!!

Had that operation when I was 16, on both sides of the nail. Mine required stitches from the base of the visible nail to the end of the nail matrix though. Alot more blood with mine and 5 years on, still quite heavy scar tissue.

I loved having my ingrown toe nail removed. The anaesthetic that was injected into my toe felt incredibly weird, but it was awesome. once my toe was fully numb the doctor was able to just poke away with anything and I couldn't feel a thing.
My toe was much worse than that though. I had a 1cm ingrown spur. Mine was no where near as bloody surprisingly.

I had all four borders done (both sides of both toes) and the phenol treatment as well. 2.5 years later only one of the borders has regrown. I wear sandals as much as possible and that helps too. Both of my toes were infected when I had the procedure and the doc said I had nearly 1cc of pus in my right toe!

when i had mine they just numbed it cut down the center and pulled the nail off. though when i had mine the nail was half under the skin and half over.it is always fun to watch, though it sometimes freaks out doctors when you do. i once had a seed wart on the underside of the toe though it was i unable to watch that one. the suckage is when the numbing goes away in about an hour. like pulling a hangnail X1000.
Just go get your nails done at some nail place and they will do it for you. Plus It is not that bad to get it removed by the doctor. You do not feel anything but the shot but it doesn't hurt that bad.

if you don't want this, only cut your nails with normal nail clippers, don't pick and tear by hand. my toes are fucked like yours, i sure hope i dont have to get this done anytime soon. for some reason the vid made my mouth water.
To the video author: You are going to keep getting these for a long time. I figured out how to do it by myself, I just make sure I use sterilized tools and do exactly what the doctor did - without local anesthesia. I just grab a sock and bite on it as I yank it out.
I only had to do it the hard way twice, but I've found that if you keep a close eye on the nail and constantly scrape the corners out for any ingrown toe nails that it never comes back.
i had this done. the most pain was from the nerve block (needle). 3/5 is about right. after that, minimal to no discomfort until the pain meds wore off later at night when it throbbed a little bit. no problems with it since

Adding to that after I had cancer (not on the toes, it was other type of cancer...) my nails went mutant and I got them dual decked, I had one nail growing below the old nail, like a double layered nail.... awesome stuff.... It never went back to normal
it doesn't have 2 layers, but it has 2x of the thickness it had before the treatments
I had clipped my toenails in such a way that they cannot cut through the skin, as they grow the front skin is pushed down, making it easy to clip, I just have to be careful in how I clip them, best way to describe it would be a photo, but I am not shooting my feet ;p
My toe nails take around 5x longer to grow than the other feet nails
I had ingrown toenails pretty bad like 6 years ago. It didn't get to the point were I had to have surgery, but I did have to get medication to fight the infection and I performed many bathroom surgeries that were excruciatingly painful and probably not a good idea.
Even though mine weren't as bad as this video it was still the most painful experience of my life. I ALWAYS make sure I don't cut my toenails too short now.

Had this done twice now (third times the charm), save for the cauterization. The shot's the worst part (had to get two at the last visit). They leave you for a bit to let the anasthetic do its magic. Everything's cake after.

the worse part is the injection in less your toe is infected you might feel a sharp pain just like in the video the doc will give you 1 more shot and after that all you feel is pressure...
I had this done, but I had it done on both of my toes on both sides. Then I had to go back a couple of months later and get them on both sides of all my little toes, except my pinky toes because they were too small to do this, and that shit does hurt!
I could imagine this hurting alot. My ingrown toenail I actually took care of myself with a butter knife believe it or not but it was only one on the little toe. Also when I was younger I had a dermatologist stabbing into my foot. I also watch lots of horror movies. Guess I'm desensitized to alot. Anyways dude you have some great videos. Also its great to see someone else with a sense of humor similar to my own. You must have been some kid growing up.
@Chugiddy It's actually a lot more painful doing it yourself. At the doc you don't feel anything, except for when they use that acid stuff to burn it. It's kind of itchy, and burny. And it lasts for a while.
And a some point you hear a grinding noise when they're diggin in there. I just took my CD into the office, cranked up the volume, and let the doc do her thing.
@RunningWithin but mine wasnt half as bad as those twins right there thank god! :D I just but a pencil and cut it with snubby scissors, took a pair of pliers, and tugged it out. problem was, though, a lot of bleeding afterward X(

Needle isn't that bad. You've felt far worse before if you have an ingrown nail.
Most people don't fear the pain, they fear the needle itself.
Don't worry about feeling pain like in this vid, that is RARE. Like, good doctors can prevent it on infected toes.
Do yourself a favor and get this done sooner then later!

my ingrown toe nail happened 4 times!!!! had the the surgery 3 times on one foot and once on the other...i had like 8 needles in my first time....and the needles hurt like...heeeeellllllll!!!!! i absolutely hate the surgerys....but im not a p****y so....yeah....

I have my nails growing like that ... But i manage to clip them enough so they don't cut through the skin... that, however, has happened ... it got a bit infected but the pus melted/dissolved the nail, making it a painful natural nail clipper...
Adding to that after I had cancer (not on the toes, it was other type of cancer...) my nails went mutant and I got them dual decked, I had one nail growing below the old nail, like a double layered nail.... awesome stuff.... It never went back to normal

it doesn't have 2 layers, but it has 2x of the thickness it had before the treatments
I had clipped my toenails in such a way that they cannot cut through the skin, as they grow the front skin is pushed down, making it easy to clip, I just have to be careful in how I clip them, best way to describe it would be a photo, but I am not shooting my feet ;p
My toe nails take around 5x longer to grow than the other feet nails
Using wide toe shoes/boots are godsend as well...

I had ingrown toenails pretty bad like 6 years ago. It didn't get to the point were I had to have surgery, but I did have to get medication to fight the infection and I performed many bathroom surgeries that were excruciatingly painful and probably not a good idea.
Even though mine weren't as bad as this video it was still the most painful experience of my life. I ALWAYS make sure I don't cut my toenails too short now.

I'm getting both sides of both of my big toes cut off on Monday and after watching this ... the shots are the worst thing? I'm kinda feel relieved hearing that but jesus i'm a bit worried about it :(

i was 15 and had 4 ingrown toenails all removed at the same time.... the shots are awful.. the cold spray helps for like 5 seconds and the surgery didnt hurt at all...... but my tonails both died and half of them fell of (: but they look good now lol.

I know how you feel man, I'm on 14 and have had 3 ops on my big toes already, most recent one was 2 weeks ago (The same as what you're having done) The second op I had the anaestethic didn't work and I felt all the pain, the doc didn't stop though he just continued :/ Ingrown toenails suck!

@TimtheBigDaddy the only part that hurts are the shots, other than that it doesnt hurt at all, the only reason the guy said oh shoot at 2:00 is because they didnt put enough anesthetic in his toe

Had this done twice now (third times the charm), save for the cauterization. The shot's the worst part (had to get two at the last visit). They leave you for a bit to let the anasthetic do its magic. Everything's cake after.

I had this exact same surgery on both sides of both my big toes....i though the needles where the worst part...i did put up with the problem for nearly 3 years though, so it was definetly worth the pain to get rid of it. =)

uhhhh the only bad part i ever had was when the doc numbed it 4 times and still i felt everything so he got pissed and didn't want to numb anymore so needless to say i felt him lift and cut and rip the ingrown puppy out just felt alot of pressure and soaked my entire t-shirt within 20 seconds.

the worse part is the injection in less your toe is infected you might feel a sharp pain just like in the video the doc will give you 1 more shot and after that all you feel is pressure...
the shot aint bad at all

I had this done, but I had it done on both of my toes on both sides. Then I had to go back a couple of months later and get them on both sides of all my little toes, except my pinky toes because they were too small to do this, and that shit does hurt!

I could imagine this hurting alot. My ingrown toenail I actually took care of myself with a butter knife believe it or not but it was only one on the little toe. Also when I was younger I had a dermatologist stabbing into my foot. I also watch lots of horror movies. Guess I'm desensitized to alot. Anyways dude you have some great videos. Also its great to see someone else with a sense of humor similar to my own. You must have been some kid growing up.

@Chugiddy It's actually a lot more painful doing it yourself. At the doc you don't feel anything, except for when they use that acid stuff to burn it. It's kind of itchy, and burny. And it lasts for a while.
And a some point you hear a grinding noise when they're diggin in there. I just took my CD into the office, cranked up the volume, and let the doc do her thing.
