Its not just a guitar, because the lead is too banjo soundish. So the lead "solo" isn't a regular guitar, anyone know what it is?

by the way, anyone know how to pull out the sound on 0:53? Guitarists will know what I mean, you can't just pull the string up or down the fret to get it. Well, maybe you can, but not the way I do it. I get something similar to that, but not the exact thing...

@yusiftheranger just in case you still want to know: it´s kind of a fast and hard bending at a high string and high fret. like 15th fret on the H-string (the note played is a D) :) playing with fingers instead of a plec also makes a somewhat different sound

Yes I think I get now what you mean, I figured it out a few months ago, I just sharpened that note by bending it like crazy, and I think that's what gave it that effect, it's a D, but not a "clean" D, it's bent a lot. Btw, what do you mean by H string? maybe that means something in Germany that I dont know :)

The only thing that I see while listening this is firecamp,friends around me at calm forest ,watching out for wolfes,cooking some chicken at firecamp,and bard playing this music at lute. Even it's funny that when some people at world die I dont feel sad or want to cry,but while listening to Gothic music every time I have this feeling in my head that makes me sad. Ahh memories .

Oh yeah, Faring was really impressive, as were many cities. But I think my favorite place in the game is Silden and its waterfalls. The city itself is so relaxing and when you go up north you get to see those stunning waterfalls. Sometimes i go there just to stand and watch, it's so beautiful...

And yes, Jowood is stupid, if they gave PB more time with Gothic 3 it would be a perfect game from the start.

@BufteaGangsters the size of the development teams and all the big shot publishers for those games probably doesn't allow for much creativity. the creative spirit seems to still be alive and well outside the United States where games are more than just products to be sold. Piranah Bytes makes games for the hardcore fans not the masses which is something you don't see very often.

no it's a brand new alienware m15x gaming notebook, and gothic 3 works now but i had to remove a font file in order to play it, and instal a patch to remove the memory leak the game has, but gothic 1 and 2 from the disk don't work

hmmm...well than at least you can play gothic 3...my gothic 3 is the enhanced edition and i got all the patches...they say that windows 7 will be great when it will have his first service pack...maybe than we can play gothic 1 and 2

@animatethedead you might go into the desert at level 10 as well. I did and made my path to Al Shedim (wanted to get quicklearn as fast as possible) and succeeded.

@swordtaker1 well...wasn't quite about the level or the desert...it was about if you can play it on Windows 7...I said that because I wanted to let that guy know that it really works on Win7 and I don't have crashes or errors after long gameplay

@animatethedead I was aware about that, but I thought I let you know that it's possible. In my opinion, the best way of starting Gothic3 is going to the desert as quick as possible...get in Braga the quest armor, then on to Maro Sul, and to Al Shedim, perhaps a visit in Geldern, too (would be problematic if you'd go the path to Varant, though, since you're too weak and lose quests) to raise your old knowledge to 100 fast and gain quicklearn...that's in my opinion the best start...

@animatethedead even if you play a warrior, it might be useful having one point per level up more...like I do now. Must-visits are then Mora Sul, Al Shedim, Geldern and Trelis (gain old stone boards). Then, if you're lucky, you could get another stone board from Ceckard in Kap Dun (at least I got one). If you kill with Diego the dark snappers and give them Luca in Braga, then you don't need fire resistant at first and don't spend the money you needed for quicklearn on a weaker armour.
