The most amazing film I have ever seen. They should make an Outer Limits film. They should make an entire movie with this animation. Patricia Piccinini has so much to say to the world.
Ok, so this is how it goes - The video is supposed to portray the opposite of what everyone else feels when they see it. though I'm not sure what those creatures are, they are curious as to what the girl is. since the girl is asleep on the ground, these creatures have never seen anything like her before, so they all gather together to figure out what she is, one of them opens her womb (yes womb) to let her unborn babies see the creature for themselves as well. That's Patricia Piccinnini for you!
@butterkeksss This is modern art. Patricia Piccinini is on the very top I would say of the current modern artists. Another one right after her is Adam Brandejs, he makes fake human meat. Both artists' message for the world is to loosen up the neuronal connections to what we already know, particularly the dualistic world view of borders between species and it's hacking order.
almost all her work is about the blurring boundaries between technology and 'organic life.' A ton of it is about the manipulation of scientific DNA testing and making mice with human ears on their backs and shizz. So... I guess if you apply that to this... then its something along the lines of how humans may be interrupting the balance of nature/environment and animals... I have a massive assignment on her... some of her work is... disturbing...
@ChuckySKK i dont think the paintings has any significance, they were just shown so the audience doesn't see whats about be falls upon the little girl, instead its left tol our immagination.
@newerawearer I dont see it, indulge me. when i started high school art was one of my subject, then i changed schools and art was dropped, never picked it up again til later yrs, still only for a short time though so i didn't get to learn much about art. I DO LOVE ART and there's a lot to learn in it and from it...
Maybe it was the fact that i read a description on this video before i watched it, but that wasn't as bad as i thought. When you think about it, it brings out the curiosity in all nature.
i liked the whole video except when the creature opened its alien vagina mouth thing.
