I monitor all the feedings of my snakes simply because I don't want them to ingest the surroundings. If they got some in their mouth I'd gently take it out before they swallowed.
@Gaplox alot of snake owners find it better to have a feeding tank that has no bark or any thing in it I use coconut rines for my surround my snake loves it because it is alot softer
A lot of people have been saying that. I myself haven't seen that product at my local pet stores yet. If it's better, and cheaper, than the bark I probably would switch to it.
The bedding should be fine. I've been using it for over a year now and haven't had any problems with that. Plus, I'm sure it wouldn't be sold by one of the bigger reptile suppliers here if it were that dangerous. :)
WOW thats a great strike feeder you've got there and a beautiful snake aswell. ive got a juvenile red albino corn snake thats strikes like that. GORGOUS
lol this is the first time i felt sorry for a mouse while being attacked by a snake. i have a ball python and feed him fuzzies which are awfully cute but dont really feel that sorry for them but this mouse while it was cleaning itself got attacked lol
thats a nice corn snake you have there, cant wait till mine becomes a full grown adult. what age and size is yours? how long did it take for him to reach that size? mines ten months old and just over 2 feet long
I'm not too sure what Sid's age is as I got him from a pet store that doesn't get the hatch dates. A rough estimate is that I got him at the beginning of January ('07) and he was on pinkies at the time (about the diameter of a standard pencil).
It hasn't taken him too long to get to the size now, as he grew 12.2" in two months... he was 30.2" at his last measuring in June.
Guys this is nature it is not terrible

@Ditonian Then, after that, I'll probably come back as something awesome... like a snake, and I'll eat a ton of live rodents.

pretty corn
bigboys1199 2 years ago
It would be dangerous if the snake ingested their bark chips when eating - tears their stomach lining.

Dam that is cool, i feed mine dead ones though he does get quite aggressive when attacking it. Was the snake actually able to swallow it.
