  • hey u u editing this video?

ok u are foking stupid this no video music this military video ok?

the music is good for u mother ass.

    good day foking stupid.

  • The Gau 8 is pretty cool, but I'd say it's waaaay over hyped. When it comes to anti-tank work 30mm is pretty tiny. I know it took out alot of Iraqi armor, but you're talking t-55's or at best 72's. There's a reason anti tank cannons are more of a curiosity in the aircraft manufacturing world.

  • @SKUSMC First of its the biggest gun any fixed wing aircraft carries. The reason it kills tanks is because the rounds it fires are made up of depleted uranium so it cuts through any armor like butter. Idk if you have even seen a live gun run by a A-10, but its the sound of death.

  • @pandaweiners I understand that, but tanks such as the M1 use depleted uranium as well and their manufacturers feel the need to stay around 120mm in order to defeat most modern armor. I'm just saying that from a strict look at the physics involved, I wouldn't expect a GAU 8 to defeat the armor on a modern MBT.

  • @SKUSMC The rounds tanks use aren't made completely of depleted uranium. They have small rods inside of rounds. The rods are about as big as a drumstick. just a little thicker. They have the rods in their for the same reason the a-10 fires them. To destroy enemy armor. Hope I'm helping you out and not confusing you.

  • @pandaweiners The rounds used in the GAU-8 have many time less energy than 120mm cannon shells.

About it beating modern armor is up to debate, since the actual property of American Chobham I/layered uranium, Chobham II, or what ever the russians use aren't common knowledge. On the other hand, things like reactive armor might be vulnerable tothat many rounds of that size.

  • @ArsArma this is a top attack aircraft, the top armor of tanks is always much less than frontal and sides so that it can have a lower profile and therefore be less identifiable to ground enemies. and with multipul hits in rapid sucession and with hits all over the tank, the gau-8 is bound to find a weak spot, considering in its first second of fireing it shoots 50 rounds, and is very accurate.

  • @KiwiTomCrawford Yes and no. Chobham armor is much stronger than regular steel (like the ones on Soviet-era tanks). Yes, the entire their are weak points, but the top is the weakpoint. Also, A-10s don't dive-bomb their targets, they come in at an angle. Most of the rounds will hit the front or sides and the ones that don't will strike the top at a supoptimal angle.

  • @SKUSMC yeah and it also can take on ERA and APS because it is not a M256 Shell

and it can take on Challenger 2 Armor i am really sure about this because the A10

can take on T-72 or T-90 Armor in seconds

  • @MetalGearArmA When has an a10 ever been tested against a T-90? All I'm saying is I think it's over hyped. Fairchild Republic has obviously sold their product well. I'm not saying the Gau8 isn't cool, but think about it; If the 30mm cannon was that effective the standard tank gun wouldn't be 120+mm, they'd all be sporting 30mm cannons.

  • @SKUSMC yeah it is so powerful but how he shooted T-72BV & T-64BV he shooted them with a seconds the destroyed what if the A10 shooted Nazis P1000 Ratte i am really sure that the Ratte will be destroyed

  • @SKUSMC I think the real difference is that the A-10's 30mm fires depleted uranium rounds.

    Ain't no stoppin'...

  • @SwankeyMonkey All MBT's use depleted uranium, including the Abrams. There's no question that the GAU 8 is an awesome weapon, I just don't see a 30mm cannon taking out a modern tank. If it would, modern tanks would not be using 120mm+ cannons. That's my 2 cents anyway.

  • @SKUSMC Its because of the guns ridiculous fire rate and explosive rounds. Thats why it can destroy tanks.

  • @SKUSMC but look how big the gau 8 is, imagine fitting it on a tank in a practical way

  • these things sound so badass when firing

  • 68 people parents died from this Thunderbolt

  • @NuTTo117 Crazy much?

  • GAU-8, the only gun to come with its own plane.

  • Sick, whomever put Rammstein on it, D

  • nice toy...

  • The GAU 8 round is about 12 inches long and weighs about two pounds. It comes out of the barrel slower than an M-61 20mm but its trajectory is flatter and flies faster farther. Do NOT get in front of one of these with ANYthing less than chobham armour and chobham will NOT take multiple hits. Further, we could put denser material in the core of the round, but we would needa better plane to carry the gun. KTV the rounds and the barrell lasts a little longer also add base bleed to round/bullet.etc

  • Bang Bang! In about 4000rpm speed!

  • Comment removed

  • GAY MUSIC

  • Dear Santa...

  • Fuuuck !!!!! This is massacre !

  • The projectiles are NOT uranium oxide but an alloy consisting almost entirely of depleted uranium. Because of whining by liberal weenies about how awful uranium is, ammo containing tungsten instead has been developed that still has the property of burning at very high temperatures on impact. It isn't as effective, however and would not be used in a real combat situation.

  • It has to dive when firing beckause of recoil from gun, it has that much power that it can only fire few sec before re-diving for a kill. A fucking awsome fighter.

  • I dont want to hear this lame ass music..i want to hear the roar of the cannon!!!

  • this is an awesome a10 video

  • МОЩЬ.СМЕРТЬ ТАНКАМ.

  • @GPNflyman1 Technology off the list. Education off the list. Engineering off the list. How do you think we make our guns, and planes bud?

  • @GPNflyman1

    Government, Government, Government, Government

Actually I couldn't really disagree with Tech, Engineering, Automotives, Art or science but Government and everything else, yes.

  • no sound of the gun or the bullets hiting the target=crap

  • STUrzKAmpflugzug swie;RK mit brillianten und rubies fur WW3

  • That is how We beat U!!!!

  • American stuff on Rammstein. Way to go...

  • @GPNflyman1 Funny you state engineering and technology in that. Yet you state that we have the "top strongest military forces." Your statements seem to contradict.

Automotive? Perhaps in the 80s and 90s, but 60s, 70s and 2010+ we had/have amazing vehicles. Have you ever heard of the Tesla Roadster? Look it up.

  • @GPNflyman1 Well guns need engineers and science wich means that the USA is also good in engineering and science.

  • The A-10 is slow and ugly and will shot your ass to shreds. End of story.

  • im glad that i live in america i wouldnt want to fuck with our military

  • @GPNflyman1 many more of our scientists are american than you may think, sure we have many people from other countries but most of our scientists are american, born and raised. the US is called a "melting pot" for a reason you know.

  • @GPNflyman1 actually, making the best weapons in the world would make our education, engineering, technology, and science world class(how would we build these world beating machines if we were all just a bunch of dumb rednecks?).

  • @GPNflyman1 health in america is a subjective statement your gonna rant on obesity but our health care is number one hands down (because its not public) education, just cause our test scores may not be the best doesn't mean we don't have the most applicable knowledge. fuck energy efficiency global warming is a hoax and we got enough oil here. technology, -(weapons, aircraft, healthcare, television, video games, phones, plastics, radio, etc....) 'nuff said. science you say? nuclear technology,,,

  • fuckin crap repeat video, rammerstein excellent music.

  • How to fuck up a perfectly good video with crap music

  • @GPNflyman1 So true. Rofl waffles.

  • i love the music

  • @GPNflyman1 Just being totally honest here, the media makes a living out of showing the world in a shitty light. I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the statistics you're referring too are abit flawed for the sake of catching a viewer or two. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, the Canadian Premier came to the US for healthcare. If Canada's system is REALLY number one, why did he take a trip south?

  • fucking gay music id rather hear the planes

  • u know what I think when I see an A 10? bewm =3

  • Oooohh ...Get her!!!!!

  • Why do people insist on putting shitty heavy metal over a perfectly good jet and gun soundtrack??

  • @williamblair11 because its a good song? if u dont like it then turn the volume down. not everything has to accomodate you. some people like it, some dont. get over it

  • Dear Santa,

  • 61 people drive tanks??

  • Rammstein+great gun= world domination

  • it may be an ugly plane but its weapon system completely out weighs that

  • @relyt752 They call it the warthog for a reason :)

  • @relyt752 I think the plane is beautiful

  • Bang bang Feuer Frei!!!

  • Derp gun with wings.

  • 3:05 number of evil ..this is a god alert to you

  • @gaio300 yup, 166 the number of evil lol

  • the history of a-10 goes as backward as '40-ies,when German officers and soldiers recognized that fire support from land artillery alone was insufficient against large masses of men and vehicles, and it was prone to friendly fire. This experience was accepted also by US army after the hard lesson from Vietnam,so

  • If we want to finish it Iran is the real target. Head of the Snake. Kill it and see who wants more. They all will fold...

  • Fire Fight!

  • @texasboy2005 Feuer frei...in German means "fire freely" literally. Their version of "Fire at will", except, no guy named Will who always winds up full of holes :D

  • @redreaper2020 Very interesting

  • MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @phhw1 stfu das is deutsche musik du penner

  • @phhw1 i agree

  • @phhw1 Never!

  • @BrenMarkII i was kidding >_>

  • thunderbolt fly so slow and itself a good target for machine guns too.

  • @T34pobeditel

Yes! BUT, but, there armour is OUTSTANDING. They fly SLOWER but with their redundancy and robust damage management functionality, even direct hits from LAWS, TOW II, anything smaller than hellfire or Mavericks, may not bring it down. Even multiple hits from RPGs may not work. And nothing can save you if you MISS!

  • @T34pobeditel but they fly it off if hit

  • battlefield 3 is gona hav this jet

  • Question regarding the ammunition: What caliber are they and approximately how deep is their impact in pure steel?

  • @nonibandoni

Each round is BIG: 30mm depleted uranium oxide. There is NO, NO steel that it cannot cut into swiss cheese. I have seen these things work...they often, often, IGNITE metals even at extreme range. No pure, ordinary metal can resist them. In fact the only metal body that might resist being completely punctured by these rounds would be the armour belt of the USS New Jersey and sister ships. These things work fairly well against reactive armour and go through tank gun barrels!!

  • @ferroxian It's depleted uranium metal, not uranium oxide. The latter is brittle and not suitable for bullets. Depleted uranium metal dust ignites spontaneously in air, which is responsible for the bullets' incendiary effect.

  • @ferroxian and all else fails you just release a maverick and watch the target evaporate

  • @ferroxian Ussauly the 30mm cant penetrate the front armor of any tank that is from the era of the Pershing or older

  • @Deadsmile100 This is patently incorrect. The cartridge of the 30mm and carriage belt set the total mass of the round...thicker armour, use bigger powder chamber/cartridge. It slows the rate of fire but you perforate ANY armour. And/or the Americans also do not 'KTV' their rounds. In short, if you need greater penetration use more powder or enhance the penetration power of the round...there has been NO tank built this gun could not master utterly, even the German Maus WWII.

  • @ferroxian Well when i what i was taught is to only shoot the back side of the tanks as the rounds will not penetrate the front armor of the T-90, T-72 and T-80. And Most of the time when your in a A-10C you will be carrying Combat Mix or CM so unless you know JTAC is going to assign you to blow some heavily armored tanks you wouldn't be carrying more powder

  • @Deadsmile100 Indeed: if someone builds a tank made of 70mm armour belt, you can still see this gun cutting them to shreds. Even if they remove the hatch and have people crawl in from the bottom thus removing the thinner armour on the top of modern tanks, the GAU-8, at first will just add powder/cartridge upgrade and better belt. Then, better barrels and finally advance to using a KTV-ed type round: Still depleted Uranium with a Tungsten-Teflon coat or better, then better feed motor, etc.

  • @ferroxian Well look luck penetrating a T-90 with a 30mm when a 120mm can barely go through it

  • @Deadsmile100 OK, try 2 follow: 8 inches of Cobham armour has the stopping power of 19.5 inches of WWII steel. If you R just going on armour thickness, you R missing the qualitative point. Tanks have changed and the GAU-8 is NOT fighting a somehow inferior modern version of a war fighting machine, no. All armour is NOT the same these days either. It is easier, faster, cheaper, to upgrade the gun and round, than to make a 'new' Hellfire missile. Only two countries have chobham armour so far. nuff

  • @Deadsmile100 The GAU-8 30 MM kills tanks by attacking from the top where armor is thinnest; also it scores multiple hits on the same place and NO armor can resist a firestorm of concentrated AP projectiles without breaking down. Even Chobham armor would just take a fraction of a second longer to fail. You don't necessarily even have to penetrate the turret to disable the tank; the same end can be achieved by damaging the chassis, sensors, optics, engine or tracks.

  • @Deadsmile100 IF, which has been my point all along, the US military thought they faced a massively up-armoured tank, the GAU-8 30 MM can easily be upgraded to face THAT threat...bring in your Tiger, Panzer, Maus, etc, my first weapon against it will be the GAU-8. First upgrade carriage belt and round charge/powder. Then a KTV-type coating for the round, then a new drive motor & barrels, and for low money I have the GAU-8 RHINO and you have pieces of burnt tank to send to Herr Hitler, good-day.

  • @Deadsmile100

A10's use various mixes of rounds depending on the mission. A common mix is a 5:1 ration of 1 DU round to 5 exploding tip ones. Obviously the pilot hit the tank from the top and I've never seen any comments that speak to the skill of the pilots who long many many hours in the plane and target practice with it out here at Davis Montham AFB. A 2 or 3 second hit from the 30mm cannon will cause massive amounts of damage to the tank or vehicle even if it doesn't go all the way through.

  • @ferroxian Translation: These things are designed to kill GODS.

  • @nonibandoni , according to official sources the gatling-gun type GAU8 has 20mm ammunitions, which-if made up of Depleted Uranium- could pierce from 1200metres the turrett of M60 tanks used in exercises or t-55 soviet tanks. against a "target" of rolled lamined steel (that is the most practical way to study the piercing capability of a bullett) the penetration achieved was 430mm,more or less.

  • if i was an opposing tank commander i would have nightmares about this thing, there's nothing you can do to stop it

  • american fighter plane... and german band... yes i suppose that mixes well..

  • Actual footage of British Tanks. "Ooops sorry my fault".

  • Rammstein music again! WHYYYYYY?!

  • rammstine is aw sum

  • lol i find it ironic how a injury compensation advert pops up...

  • I love the aviators...

  • I get a kick out of all the stupid people on youtube who go on long rants about how the US Military isn't really as good as "you'd like to think". Let me tell you something; one false move, and your country gets turned into a fucking parking lot within the next few hours. Our soldiers took down the largest military in the world within 3 weeks in 2003, with almost no support at all from Europe. The USAF knocked out Serbia within days at the cost of a single plane.. We do as we fucking please.

  • @whukid2 Lol the america vs world argument again. Fuck you.

  • @whukid2 Saddam was the largest military in the world?

Some of these americans..... oh god...

  • @clawbog2 what r u saying about americans? we like to make sure the job is finshed

  • @MegaGuy72 I'm saying they don't know how to spell.

  • @clawbog2 ya... people are dumb. it happens however Sadam had the 4th or 5th Largest Army in the world. at the time.

  • @Dogmeat1950 5th I think, but I can't be sure.

    Defiantly not the largest though....

  • @clawbog2 ya wasn't the largest, back then it was either Russia or China with the Largest.

  • what's this song called?

  • @kieranisaboyo "Feuer frei"

  • Русские могут сосать его вы коммуниста сук

  • I have to agree with some here the music spoilt the vid i would have preferred to hear the GAU ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR :P

  • России ружен такой штурмовик. Наши Су абрамсы не "берут"

  • Tanks this was made just for you! Oh yeah and this is this plane's theme song! :D

  • stupid music ... what the fuck is the matter with you people that like to put music to videos. it doesn't make the video better.

  • 'Hey this is the song at the beginning of xXx with Vin diesel, thumbs up so people notice!

  • @zemixis its called Feuer Frei, by Rammstein, a german band. They also played themselves in xXx.

  • HaHaHa tank killer yeah right how many Serbian tank's you destoroyed in war on Kosovo 1999?True result was 13 tanks HaHaHa great NATO against proud Serbian people,,,

Long live serbia Kosovo is Serbia

  • @cikatihi Here's the reason why. I know an A-10 pilot. He was telling me that the A-10 is such a killing machine it is a rarity that they ever pull out all the weaponry on a sortie mission. In fact they used them all out in Kuwait on the first day when troops were on the ground during the Gulf War. The pilots requested that warning shots be fired first when they attacked the next day they surrendered in droves! They spared your tanks, trust me they easliy could have blown them apart.

  • @cikatihi Do you actually realise they weren't even trying to destroy your tanks? If they did, all of your tanks would now be pieces of modern art.

  • @cikatihi Ok cikatihi if your gonna be a jerk... 13 tanks is a low ball claim but a few things on this "war" One it was little more than a blip on most countries radar and it wouldn't be surprising to not loose many tanks when the tanks and anti aircraft guns simply went into hiding. Also consider planes were kept above 15k feet. So don't get all cocky like they were on a battlefield fighting of A10's and other Nato planes, although I'm sure the fake decoy tanks put up a lot of resistance.

  • Shame about the music. mute.. my old friend

  • build a plane on top of a gun just to fuck shit up

  • Wait is that just one pilot? Must be pretty skilled to fly a giant minigun while shooting it...

  • @blinkyrem it is a two seater

  • @jquindel

    No, it's not.

  • @helios932 yeah my bad i was watching multibal videos and i just got mixed up thinking this was the comment from another

  • 30 MM shot can destroy tank? long distance?

  • 30 mm of happiness

  • harrier Airstrike is standing by.

  • @Vejalis911 why the fuck would you need a harrier when you already have an a-10 fucking shit up ?

  • thats one hell of a killing machine!!

  • why cant i go to a military tech video without seeing some russian people going on and on about how much better they are...

  • a 10 fucks gadafi forces

  • in soviet russia guns have this plane as ammo

  • @itsnotfunnyHAHA newsflash, USSR is no more.. quite some time now..

  • @lolzoretwo this was a joke

  • thanks for not fagging this up with shit music

    /sarcasm

  • Nice video but you - Remove the best stuff -- A-10 gun sound ;(

  • This aircraft/gun platform speaks for itself. Love the ANGRY GERMAN music.

  • RAMMSTEIN AND A10?!?!?!?!?!?!?! LOVE IT

  • Rule Number one. have a heavy hitting anti air defense. Rule number 2. Have a heavy hitting air force. Rule 3 always remember rule one and two.

  • Russians nukes are better :D

  • @Piesniak - Lol what nukes it all empty shields lol.... and due they work like your sub's? Lol

    HAHAHHAha owned

  • The song, tell me the name of the song!!

  • @soluuloi The name of the song is Feuer Frei, it is in Rammstein's mutter album

  • @platinum243125 Thanks you! You rock my world!

  • @soluuloi Thanks, or Danke in german

  • FUCKING SHIT, My ear drums blew at 0:15 ......wasnt expecting that

  • Get ready Ghaddafi!

  • @2013hivey

yeh just read in norwegian newspaper they are sending this aircraft to Libya? and AC -130? first thought in my mind when i read that was: well now hes fukked xD

  • @2013hivey I hope you know Ghaddafi is innocent.

  • @2013hivey fu,Ghaddafy is our friend

  • It's good against dumb ass Iraqis, but in a regular warfare, pilots would be like suicide bombers. Pretty much any shoulder mounted AA missile would have great chance of blowing it away either on approach, or during the attack.

  • @ArtypNk

And yet, it doesn't happen. In case you didn't catch it, this plane has been in the air for like 30 years. If it was a mobile target, they would have already retired it.

  • @Quakeboy02

Well, when did they used it in regular war? When was there a call that didn't go "a couple of dumb insurgents" or "A lonely lost tank 50 miles deep in the dessert". They cant use it, in say, Libya, because Libyans have shoulder mounted missiles.

  • @ArtypNk

Why don't you google "A-10 libya" and you will learn that we have actually sent A-10s to Libya. It has been used in the original Gulf War, Bosnia and Kosovo, Afghanistan and latest Iraq war, The A-10 is not scheduled to be retired from USAF service until at least 2028, and probably later.

Google isn't really all that hard to use, sheesh.

  • @ArtypNk They did use it in a regular war. Several actually. When asked what the most scarry weapon they ever incounterd was, Iraqi P.O.Ws (I think) sayd B-2 bomber and A-10 Warthog.

  • tango neutralishit... lol

  • Tango neutralised .

  • A-10 Thunderbolt II= pwnage

  • i wanted to hear the sound of death. now im disapointed.

  • @omfgMASTERomfg

The rounds from an A-10 are supersonic. You're dead before the roar gets to you.

  • So not cool for the tanker. Here you are smiling smugly at the infantries small arms fire bouncing off your skin and then a giant metal bird comes and poops on you.
