I would like to give it up to my friend LeeMo (Lee Morris #84),he is nowhere in the replay but he did play a huge part. in the success of the play.He was the split-end on the right and his job was to run across the field and block the safety #27 (I tkink that's Brian Washington). If he doesn't get to him,#27 makes the stop at the 10.Great teamwork DCPride
Jeez!!! Who was that slow ass #45 who had the angle and whiffed like a bitch?? Typical mid-80s slow Husker defense. Still not as bad as the pink shirts of Kevin Cosgrove, though.
Nebraska's defense was not slow as you indicate. OU's Wishbone was built on speed and Kieth Jackson was arguably the best and fastest tight end to ever play college football. The only problem is that he played in an offense that only allowed him to catch a few passes per game. Great players have a way of making very good players look slow.
The "Wishbone" or any other type of triple option offense is not run as a main offense because of defensive speed. If it was feasible, most teams would run those types of offenses, because of ball control. When linebackers can run as fast as the halfbacks the option does not work on a routine basis.
That's not saying the bone is any better or worse, it's just common knowledge that todays quarterbacks can lay a ball right between the numbers if you give it to them, so it's a tough situation to be in unless you're playing with the 85 Bears defense.
As much as I liked watching the old bone vids, I'm glad we have changed things up for now. Ex's of a great wishbone team competes against a pro-style team is the ugly OU/Miami games of the 80s.
Today's kids like pro-style offenses. If you want to land today's best HS players and develop NFL talent... you have to adapt. Today's coaches are weary of the bone because of the TOs. And TOs can get really ugly when you're playing against a team who can score in a matter of seconds throwing the ball.

I went to high school with Gresham, he is great.
However, Keith Jackson is the greatest college TE of all time.

Only the King would run a T.E. reverse in the first quarter. Boomer Sooner and good luck to Nebraska except when you guys come to Norman.

Great call and great execution.. Look at all the players downfield making blocks, including the center and the WR.

Was that Keith Jackson????????
All I have to say is that play was executed to perfection and Jackson could flat out fly for a guy his size. Awesome.

Thinking the announcer got a chuckle of that one, for obvious reasons....

Martellus Bennett is WAYYYYYYYY overrated. A simple product of the never-ending Texas A&M hype machine. Next big thing? How bout the next big bust?

Too bad these days no one will hire a coach if he says that he will run the wishbone.
