@KumoriDeath97 The instructions that came with it suggested to use regular printer paper. If you use anything thicker, you could damage the machine or the buttons might not get put together properly.

@xXMangaPrincess Nope, just regular computer paper. That's actually what's recommended because thicker papers won't work with the machine and could actually wreck it. Don't even use photo paper.

@xXMangaPrincess Resize the drawing before printing. I use Microsoft Word. I draw big and print small so that the lines are thinner and I can add more detail.

HI ! Im thinking of doing buttons because of your video ! but i was thinking did you make the circles in which you had the drawings in them ? like how did you get the exact size.. it may be confusing but please respond ! also what paper do you use? regular or cardstock(:

@meisui1 I sized the circles using microsoft word and it was a bit of trial and error at first to get the right size. Once I got the right size, I saved a document with one buttons design on it and used that size as reference for the other designs. Then I cut it out as shown in the video to get it to the EXACT size. For paper, do NOT use cardstock or any other thick paper. Thin paper, like regular printer paper is recommended or else the machine could jam or the button might not form properly.

Are you sure you can sell buttons about characters that already exist? I mean they have there own creator, they have copyrights and stuff, some are in chibi style but you can identify them anyway. There are some fans that have t-shirts of some of them fav characters, but they are not making money with that it´s just fan art, and you are. And I dont have anything against you it is just a question.

@megadeth123luis It's actually totally acceptable for some reason. In fact, anything that is not fan art will hardly sell at cons because people are looking for merchandise of their favourite characters. Otafest allows you to sell fan art as long as you didn't directly copy an image. As long as it's original (aside from the character design), then it's acceptable.

For the buttons, did you hand draw all of them or did you draw one then copied it for the others?

@rockingirl123321 Hand drew one, scanned and coloured on the computer, then printed out several copies. If I hand drew each and every one, the buttons would be like $10 each because they would take so much time to make! No one would pay that much. Each character was drawn once, then printed into several copies.

@twinsweetness Yeah, I have a bamboo pen tablet that I bought a few months ago. But colouring these chibis is the first thing I've ever done with my tablet, so I'm still a beginner. Ocean has a really good sai tutorial on her channel (oshaikeuchi). That's where I learned the basics. But my chibis have little to no blending so blending and shading is something I will really have to work on.

But I got a kit which included the button maker, cutter, and enough parts for 500 buttons for $410 (all these prices are Canadian). I also ordered enough parts for 500 more buttons, which cost me $55 (11 cents each). Once shipping was added on, I payed $501.  A lot, I know. But if I can cover that cost at one con, that will be awesome.

I've seen some ridiculously priced at even $8 for a button..Your prices seem to be good so I'm rooting for you to break even!
