@KumoriDeath97 The instructions that came with it suggested to use regular printer paper. If you use anything thicker, you could damage the machine or the buttons might not get put together properly.
@lllN3GrOlll I've personally looked it up(is hoping to make my own buttons soon) And it's roughly about $400 to $500 for a good quality one. The ones she bought from that website were about $450. A little over after counting shipping. And that isn't counting the actual buttons supplies.
I love Ryuk!!! Who was the character in the background when you showed the machine that made the actual button? I wanna say Matsuda, death note and all, but I'm not sure.
@xXMangaPrincess Nope, just regular computer paper. That's actually what's recommended because thicker papers won't work with the machine and could actually wreck it. Don't even use photo paper.
@zkittyz Oh ok, cuz I really wanted a new phone, which is like nearly £200 so I asked my mum that instaird of my phone, she gets me a button maker, I make some buttons sell em near my local shops, at carboot sales, and on ebay. and then I can buy the phone myself xD
And then with the money I make I can also buy some of ur buttons so I can have them as my idol buttons, and to wear them obviously! OR PUT THEM ON MY SCHOOL BAGG :DD lol
@xXMangaPrincess Resize the drawing before printing. I use Microsoft Word. I draw big and print small so that the lines are thinner and I can add more detail.
@xXMangaPrincess Trial and error. Once I found the size that worked, I saved it as a word document, and every time I print a new design, I match it to be the same size.
@blackninjadance Like for exmaple for £181, u can get the button maker, the cuttter which is a lil different from this one that she uses, but it does the same thing :) and then u get 500 PARTS :D like for the button making :D its such a good deal :D
i smiled SOOOOOOOOOO much when you had shown us the shugo chara ones :D Yoru is my favorite of them all cuz hes a kitty :3 KITTEHS WILL RULE DEH WORLD!
@lovebirds360 Yeah, Yoru was BY FAR the most popular Shugo Chara button. He sold out at Otafest and I even made more of him than I did of the other Shugo characters.
@zkittyz Was there a shipping fee? I think I'm the only person in my small town crazy enough to willingly spend $3-5 on one marker and attempt to save $400+ for button making supplies (and I can't work yet). Oh well, I enjoy insanity :3
omg you are AWESOME i love the ones from shugo chara and vocaloids ( is that how you spell that? idk o.o) you should have done Ikuto (i <3 ikuto)...but really thats amazing i so want one of those button maker thingys
HI ! Im thinking of doing buttons because of your video ! but i was thinking did you make the circles in which you had the drawings in them ? like how did you get the exact size.. it may be confusing but please respond ! also what paper do you use? regular or cardstock(:
@meisui1 I sized the circles using microsoft word and it was a bit of trial and error at first to get the right size. Once I got the right size, I saved a document with one buttons design on it and used that size as reference for the other designs. Then I cut it out as shown in the video to get it to the EXACT size. For paper, do NOT use cardstock or any other thick paper. Thin paper, like regular printer paper is recommended or else the machine could jam or the button might not form properly.
Do you need the image cutter, or could you just cut the images with scissors? (even though it's time consuming)Because I want to make some button's to sell, but I don't have enough money for both the image cutter and the contraption that makes the buttons..
Are you sure you can sell buttons about characters that already exist? I mean they have there own creator, they have copyrights and stuff, some are in chibi style but you can identify them anyway. There are some fans that have t-shirts of some of them fav characters, but they are not making money with that it´s just fan art, and you are. And I dont have anything against you it is just a question.
@megadeth123luis It's actually totally acceptable for some reason. In fact, anything that is not fan art will hardly sell at cons because people are looking for merchandise of their favourite characters. Otafest allows you to sell fan art as long as you didn't directly copy an image. As long as it's original (aside from the character design), then it's acceptable.
@rockingirl123321 Hand drew one, scanned and coloured on the computer, then printed out several copies. If I hand drew each and every one, the buttons would be like $10 each because they would take so much time to make! No one would pay that much. Each character was drawn once, then printed into several copies.
Wow, awesome! I suggest maybe you could make sample buttons of each button, then instead of making a whole bunch of them before the con you could actually make the buttons on the spot at the actual con? Well, if there's a lot of people waiting at your booth it might not work out... Just suggesting hehe!
@GurgleBubble I was thinking about doing some Rona buttons and giving the profits to you guys but I ran out of time! I have one day left and I haven't even started on my magnets!!!! Maybe next year :)
@twinsweetness Yeah, I have a bamboo pen tablet that I bought a few months ago. But colouring these chibis is the first thing I've ever done with my tablet, so I'm still a beginner. Ocean has a really good sai tutorial on her channel (oshaikeuchi). That's where I learned the basics. But my chibis have little to no blending so blending and shading is something I will really have to work on.
@CreatorOfCastell The button maker alone is $249, and the image cutter alone is $169. But I got a kit which included the button maker, cutter, and enough parts for 500 buttons for $410 (all these prices are Canadian). I also ordered enough parts for 500 more buttons, which cost me $55 (11 cents each). Once shipping was added on, I payed $501. A lot, I know. But if I can cover that cost at one con, that will be awesome.
Aww it's a shame your not going to Anime North (I know it's for distance) but your selling buttons at a really good price. I've seen some ridiculously priced at even $8 for a button..Your prices seem to be good so I'm rooting for you to break even! I adore the Sailor Moon and Miki buttons! :D I think it would have been nice seeing the other scouts too!
@KerchaDraco I'm going to have samples pinned to a piece of cork board that is going to be propped up on a mini easel, and the rest of the stock will be in a plastic container with many little individual compartments. The container will be sitting on the table.
So cute! :) And how could you not like the Amu ones? They're so cute!!! :D You make awesome buttons! ^-^ Oh, and It's prounounced "D-eye-a" The "I" like when you say the literal letter... or "Eye" as in what lets you see stuff.
Can U save me a badge, a hat and a vampire Kinight bookmark if u can? I will buy some, BUT my class is going on a school trip, and we going for a week, and I'm worried there will not be any left
@xXMangaPrincess I'm sorry, but I'm not saving anything because people might not end up paying me. It will be first come first serve with whatever's left after Otafest.
you are awesome!

@xXMangaPrincess I'm sorry, but I'm not saving anything because people might not end up paying me. It will be first come first serve with whatever's left after Otafest.
