@fgod999 Nystagmus causes the vision problem not the other way around. Everyone doesn't have it as bad. Mine is not that bad. You can barely tell my eyes move and you have to watch closely.

Nystagmus is like you said rapid eye movement. the link between the brain and the eye is somehow not correct. although the eye moves in most people still see somewhat strait (although focus and depth preception are bad) someones vision with nystagmus can verry from near normal to legally blind.
Most are legally blind. The movement is called nystagmus, which is when the eye doesn't focus well, and is darting around, looking for a focal point. It happens in those with a visual impairment starting in baby/childhood. If the visual impairment begins in adulthood, nystagmus doesn't really develop.
I have a visual impairment, and my eye (I have only one, and am not albino) moves like that when I'm tired because I can't focus as well.

Umm. I was wondering, I've noticed a trend in most ablinos that their eyes waver uncotrollably quite a bit. Is that a symptom of albinoism?

@fgod999 Nystagmus causes the vision problem not the other way around. Everyone doesn't have it as bad. Mine is not that bad. You can barely tell my eyes move and you have to watch closely.

@fgod999 Nystagmus is not just in albinos. Im not albino and I have congenital nystagmus, which means your born with it. almost every single person with albinism have nystagmus. Nystagmus is like you said rapid eye movement. the link between the brain and the eye is somehow not correct. although the eye moves in most people still see somewhat strait (although focus and depth preception are bad) someones vision with nystagmus can verry from near normal to legally blind.

Most are legally blind. The movement is called nystagmus, which is when the eye doesn't focus well, and is darting around, looking for a focal point. It happens in those with a visual impairment starting in baby/childhood. If the visual impairment begins in adulthood, nystagmus doesn't really develop.
I have a visual impairment, and my eye (I have only one, and am not albino) moves like that when I'm tired because I can't focus as well.

@heartless33 Not as light as that though. Asians do have some pigments no matter how light they may be. You can even tell albino from whites. There are albinos everywhere. Even white albinos are distinguishable.

Not evolution or adaption. That would suggest something changed to improve. Blue eyes are weak in comparison to darker eyes, so there is no basis for this. This is a genetic abnormality/mutation.

Evolution doesn't mean improved. Its just how something changes to better fit its environment. White people are white cuz europe is cold. if you put a european in the hot sun like Colombia over 500 years he would look like well like most colombians look. wich is meztiso.

That's Natural Selection. Any change for the betterment of a species in part to it's environment is an improvement. It allows that species to survive better, given it's living conditions compared to it's ancestors. It has indeed improved it's stance on survival. Albinism DOES NOT DO THIS IN ANY WAY! It's a recessive genetic mutation passed on by both parents resulting in photophobia, nystagmus, strabismus, visual deficiencies, and lack of pigmentation. No improvement = no adaption, period!

I'm a white male and by no means consider myself superior! I was simply stating the facts about albinism. I happen to have a child with albinism so I'm well aware of what I'm talking about. Learn how to read and understand an argument, learn how to spell correctly, and learn how to appreciate other races.
