I've been great at drawing, but i never learned how to paint... But i"ve always wanted to learn since my grandmother was an excellent artist. She sold paintings, kachina dolls, and ceramic ware. This might be the inspiration i need to try and learn. I've always loves sketching trees. Now maybe i'll paint them :)

@SuperSanchez21 I think coloured pencils and watercolors are good to start for children. At least that's what I used for a very long time. The material doesn't really matter that much if he enjoys drawing :)

Awesome dude, you should make a vid on the paints / materials you use. I'm using the cheap 59 cent CraftSmart acrylic from Michael's but it just looks so cheesy and tacky and can't get that realistic effect like how you do on your clouds, grass etc.

It looks sad, because there is nothing around and the tree is without leaves and the weather is cold (the clouds and shadows make me think so). How is your friend from your childhood? Do you keep in touch?

Hello! Your painting are wonderful! I've been reading "Painting with feeling" and when I saw the picture "Head In The Clouds" 18 X 36, it's incredible, but I could guess what has happened there without reading the information below. it really gives an impression and it makes me to miss my childhood. or even it tells me that someone is talking about his. it makes me sad because it's impossible to get back something that is in the past.
