Is "Liz" OK? ESCR has been going on for decades. In the eleven years since the first ESC was isolated, there has been no successful medical procedures. Thus, your statement of "about a "...2nd wrong..." has a fatal flaw. These cells are not life giving to anyone but their host. Finally, We currently have Stem Cell Research that is successful today, and helping people.

Here is my question to all of you, Why put money into failed research when we have research that is successful, today?

I can personally attest to Liz being OK! ;) I think you are responding to my positive comment after Obama's statement. Let me clarify; Obama stated "IF adult stem cells produce cures... we should avoid any weighty moral issues..." And I agree: but I also know, like you were saying , that adult cells already have cures so by Obama's own reasoning we should stop using ESCR. Which, of course, is not in line with his recent action lifting the ESCR ban.

On March 9, 2009, mr oblama lifted the ban of Federal Funds for Embryonic Stem Cell Research.  Yet, on that same day, he placed a ban of Federal Funds for Adult Stem Cell Research. He is talking out of both sides of his mouth..... In short, he's a LIAR!

is disposing of embryos not killing them?putting them in the trash does not justify their short existence. life is a matter of purpose. every person lives because they have a purpose in life. let these embryo serve its purpose of saving lives rather than disposing them and doing nothing out of these precious lives. every human even embryos has its purpose for its existence. life without any purpose is a life not worth living. Money is not the issue...so much money has gone into embryonic stem cell research with no success. Do you know have much CA put in? Billions...for nothing. Private firms lobby the government to give them money to do it because no private company would waste their money on something so unproven. They convince the voters it will help fix diseases while so far it has only padded the pockets of those who lobbied for it.

I support stem cell research too...i just don't support killing human embryos to do it. Do you support harvesting living human embryos for research?

All the stem cell cures so far have come from the ethical cord blood, marrow, etc types anyways.

Stem cell research is so important and I cannot believe people call it a moral issue. Where the moral is and somebody that is blind or in a wheel chair or is dying and is one research away from a cure? In addition, you say it is immoral to cure people I believe it is all business and is not good business to cure people it is good business when people die ha sad.

I believe in curing people and if embryos are been thrown away why not use them for research to save many more lifes so if your saying that curing people is immoral then where is your moral

To answer your question first you are comparing apples to pairs. What Hitler did is on cold for and yes thanks to that, we know more about the human body that we would ever know, was the price to high yes. I say it was but in this case I personally believe that on embryo is not a life and this can be proven scientifically so if your saying that I would sacrifice a few embryos for the cure of millions of people the answer is yes I would proudly would do it

What I meant to say is that was on called for it was not right what Hitler did but we cant deny the knowledge gained from that treble experience. I believe Life starts at birth. And youre being a bit two extreme by saying that stem cell research is the outlet sale of bay be body parts, when in fact millions of women do abortions everyday and dose fetuses get toss away to the garbage and in some cases this fetuses get used for research bye the pharmasudical companies and now one says anything

Adult stem cells have already cured AIDS.

Embryonic stem cells can be used to cure much more because there are so many being produced to help the fetus grow inside the womb.

Think of it this way, a mother aborts a child because she cannot support it, when that embryo's stem cells are donated to save a child with a very horrible illness it's almost like they live on with that child. Isn't that better then sending their body to the dump?
