Reason #1 to trade MB3 for D-Mac: Age. MB3 turns 25 in June and D-Mac turns 21 weeks before the season starts. Most RBs become useless once they turn 30.

Reason #2: Speed. D-Mac has it, MB3 doesn't. And MB3 will only get slower with all the stress he puts on his knees with that violent running style.

Reason #3 (and Jerry's favorite): Marketing. D-Mac is marketable and MB3 is more shy than a virgin in a whorehouse.

I wish that could happen but it can't. The only chance we had to trade JJ was last year before the trading deadline was up. The only way that happens is if we re-sign JJ and then trade him. But of course that would just eff up our salary cap so it's not going to happen either.

...a good RB is easier to replace....look at Ryan Grant(undrafted), Ahmad Bradshaw(7th round), Brian WestBrooks (3rd round). Willie Parker (undrafted)Maurice Jones-Drew.....I would never make that move for a "great" one but you can't fault Jerry for trying.  RB's like LT, Adrian and Dmac only come around every few years.

That's true, good RB's are easy to find. The great ones come out of the 1st round and more times than not out of the top 10. Just check out the top 25 all-time rushers in the NFL. All of them except Tiki Barber and Joe Perry were from the 1st round. And Joe Perry played in the 40's when the NFL draft was done in some dude's basement. lol

So basically it comes down to if we want a great running game for years to come or a good running game for the next 5 years.
