  • Heard hundreds of versions of this classic song- did it myself in a band many years ago- but have to say the studio recording by this band is very good interpretation - make it their own, you certainly miss the orchestration from the recording live, but still a band worth watching for sure.

  • Excuse all of you but it's the recording not Luke's (Lead Singer) voice or lack of performance, he's a friend of mine and put's the Beatles to shame on this song, trust me, check out the song on the bands Myspace, and their other songs, and you'll think differently, they should be famous. Listen to their songs, you won't regret it., and you'll bite your tongue when they hit it big.

  • gotta say I'm a little disappointed with this particular version of the song - Doxology is a great band and I'd bet they would be the first to admit this wasn't one of their best performances to be posting, either - BUT, still doesn't change my opinion on the band whatsover - great band ...

  • He's a crap singer

  • he's a real good singer, my friend - this is simply a video of a crap performance for lots of other reasons than his voice ...

    respect

  • He's not a good singer, it's only a little similar to David Cooks. And at least David Cook can actually sing! And they're boring to watch. Not good performers at all. They kind of just stand there! At Cook PERFORMS! I agree with kevhlub2008, they'd be better as a cheesy boy band.

  • cook stole their arrangement

hes no more original than kareoke-gag

  • ppl were complaining david cook copied this. well this was a copy from the beatles so i don't know what ppl are complaining about. You could say cooks version was a cover of the Doxology version. And they don't even sound that similar to me.

  • they are REALLY good... and david cook took their arrangement!

  • Props to these guys for doing a great cover - original and tight. And no need to compare between them and David Cook. I think David did a great job too and gave credit to these guys. A good live video considering its one lightweight camera. Thanks.

  • This just happens to be a bad recording... Doxology totaly ROCKS, Luke is NOT a jerk or into himself at all, and I think that they do a WAY better Job on this song than David Cook did! Rock on Dx!!!

  • Ha Ha! obviously don't kno him to well. nuff said.

  • all of you are just star struck by david cook. if you only knew how awesome doxology is! you should check them out and stop offending them why is everyone so negative?

  • I really do Like it.

    His Voice Sounds fine.

    People need to shut up.

  • I really think Doxology should start sing pop cause their voice are like pop not rock!!I bet they could make the next backstreetboy band!!Rock on David Cook!!

  • he can't sing. They should be thanking David for giving them some notoriety instead of being such jerks about it.

  • really cool cover..i really like it

  • really cool cover..i really like it

  • I went to high school with this guy and sang with him for several yrs.! Talk about a "God" complex!! Totally in to himself then and it seems like not much has changed! Get over yourself Luke! You weren't that good then and you still aren't! And just to remind everyone, this isn't Dox's song or David's, it's the Beatles!! No one can top that!

  • David sound so much better!

  • The studio version of this is amazing! Totally puts Cook's to shame.

  • David Cook brought this beautiful song to people that might not of ever had a chance to hear it,young and old, Beautiful! Real Talent

  • david cook admitted that he saw this as inspiration for his performance.

  • Was it just me or did the crowd really not seem all that into it?

  • Its definitely NOT just you.

  • Doxology fans are just mad because David Cook did it better.

  • ya exactly !!!

  • Amen!!

  • people calm down!!! the whole show is about covers. david just listens to less popular music. it's not his fault that the judges have very limited musical knowledge. i will say though that he should have had ryan say doxology's version of eleanor rigby but i mean come on no one would have known who they were. this is the only song he hasn't given credit to. david a. did stevie wonder's version of we can work it out and no one ragged on him. both david's are great vocalists.

  • yeah, because david a gave credit!

  • I agree with you but I have to say, the contestants have no control over what Ryan says or what the producers air . He can give the band credit but that doesn't mean it will be on the show.

  • this clever karoke singer is getting away with murder how come people dont see it vote for real talent - micheal johns.

  • yeah, david cook did this version on AI. let people know

  • at first, I was impressed with David Cook's version coz I thought he arranged it that even d judges believed it was his...bad

  • I hope everyone that watches American Idol sees this

  • Nice!!!!
